It will be a good litmus test for #1 Wellesley (2-1-0) when it takes on Division 1’s top club – Austin Prep – on Monday at Merrimack College. The Raiders will be well-rested as they were idle this week. They will see Framingham on Saturday.

Westwood (5-0-1) solidified its spot as #2 in this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 2 Top 10 after an impressive 5-1 win Saturday over #4 Canton in the finals of the Canton Ice House Invitational. Senior captains Olivia Jordan (12 pts) and Kat Keith (11 pts) are leading the way; both had two goals in the win over Canton. The Wolverines have Medway-Ashland (Wednesday) and Norwood (Saturday) on this week’s docket.

Unbeaten Notre Dame Academy (5-0-0) slides up to #3 after wins over Natick (5-4) and Winchester (3-1). The Cougars are off until they host Marblehead on Saturday.

The loss to Westwood was the first of the season for Canton (4-1-1), which has another tough battle Wednesday with unbeaten Franklin. The Bulldogs then see Mansfield/Oliver Ames/Foxboro on Saturday.

#5 Archbishop Williams (4-2-0) is up a spot on the heels of an 8-1 win over Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake behind a hat trick from Nicole Hersey. The Bishops will be at Arlington Catholic Wednesday.

Also up a rung is Algonquin/Hudson (5-2-0) at #6. The T-Hawks had a loss to Franklin (3-2) but then posted a big 2-1 win Saturday over Natick. They host Leominster Wednesday.

#7 Dennis-Yarmouth (4-1-0) fell from the ranks of the unbeaten after a loss to Norwell Saturday (3-2). The Dolphins have King Philip (Wednesday) and Falmouth (Saturday) this week.

#8 Matignon (2-3-0) beat Boston Latin (1-0) and lost to Andover (4-0) at the Boston Latin Christmas Tournament. The Warriors three losses have been to the #1, #2 and #4 ranked teams in Division 1. A busy week sees St. Peter Marian (Monday), Latin Academy/Fontbonne (Wednesday) and Leominster (Saturday), all on the road.

#9 Winchester (3-1-2) suffered its first loss with Saturday’s 3-1 setback to NDA (although it was an exclusionary game for the Sachems). Unbeaten Reading is the next opponent Saturday.

Cracking this week’s Top 10 is Pembroke (6-0-0). The Titans are fresh off winning the Judy Gormley Cup championship this past weekend. Cohasset/Hanover (Wednesday) and Whitman-Hanson/Silver Lake provide this week’s opposition.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Walpole (4-1-0), Bishop Fenwick (6-2-0)
