Things are pretty much status quo in this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Girls Division 1 Top 10.

#1 Austin Prep (4-0-0) was idle all week but will swing back into action Monday with a key game against Division 2’s top club – Wellesley. The Cougars will then face Longmeadow on Saturday.

#2 St. Mary’s (5-0-0) returned to play Saturday, knocking off Lincoln-Sudbury 3-1 led by a pair of goals from Jenna Chaplain, who along with Codi Butt and Samantha Porazinski, have already reached double digits in points. The Spartans play just once this week, but it is huge, a Wednesday battle with unbeaten #6 Reading. It will be at Connery Rink (8pm).

It was two more wins for #3 Duxbury (6-0-0), who dispatched HPNA (7-3) and Medway-Ashland (3-0). A good sign? The Dragons are getting offensive production from a number of different players. They travel to always-tough Hingham on Wednesday, and host Plymouth Saturday in a pair of Patriot League games.

#4 Andover (6-0-1) took home the title at the Boston Latin Christmas Tournament, earning wins over Braintree (7-3) and Matignon (4-0) before being tied by Billerica-Chelmsford (1-1) on Saturday. The Golden Warriors face #9 Masconomet Wednesday then host Rhode Island power LaSalle on January 5.

Showing no ill effects from a loss to Andover, #5 Methuen-Tewksbury (7-0-0) returned with a 7-0 win over Central Catholic this past weekend. The Red Rangers have a pair of home games this week against Marblehead (Wednesday) and Acton-Boxboro (Saturday).

Reading (4-0-0) had the week off and will be well-rested when they see St. Mary’s. The Rockets will host Winchester on Saturday. #7 Arlington (4-1-0) also was off for the holiday week, and doesn’t have another game until a January 5 trip to Woburn.

#8 Braintree (4-2-0) rebounded from that loss to Andover with a win over Boston Latin (3-1), then Saturday rallied from a three-goal deficit for a 4-3 win over Hingham.  The Wamps travel to Framingham Saturday.

#9 Masconomet (2-1-2) had a win, loss and tie this week. The Chieftains were deadlocked by Medford (1-1), fell to Melrose (3-2) and then beat Marblehead (6-0). After Andover Wednesday, Masco will be at Winthrop Saturday for a key league battle.

#10 Needham (3-0-1) was idle. Next up for the Rockets? Milton on Wednesday and King Philip on Saturday.

KEEP AN EYE ON: Franklin (5-0-0), Shrewsbury (2-1-2), Peabody/Lynnfield/North Reading (5-1-1).
