Saturday’s snowstorm wiped out most games involving Division I girls poll teams, so there was hardly any movement in this week’s HNIB News poll.

Duxbury (9-1-1) will stay in the #1 spot, a 5-0 win over Westwood its only decision of the week. The Dragons get Canton on Wednesday,  and a key non-leaguer against Beverly/Danvers on Saturday. Yesterday’s game with Billerica needs to be made up.

#2 Reading‘s (10-1-0) Saturday game with Melrose was wiped out (makeup, TBA). The Rockets did blast Wilmington 10-1 this week. They get right into the fire on Monday, with a huge contest with #5 Acton-Boxboro (Nashoba Valley, 8:10pm UPDATE: this game has been postponed). Reading will play Stoneham on Wednesday.

After its huge win over Arlington Catholic, #3 Barnstable (6-0-4) dominated its next two games, but had to settle in each instance for a 1-1 tie (with Medway/Ashland and Sandwich). The Red Raiders have a big week with Falmouth on Wednesday and Notre Dame of Hingham Thursday, before Canton on Saturday.

#4 Arlington Catholic (10-2-0) bounced back well with a 5-0 whitewashing of Andover, avenging its other loss of the season. The Cougars get Hingham on Wednesday and then take on surging Fontbonne (D2’s #2 team) on Saturday. Yesterdays’ tilt with Archbishop Williams needs to be made up.

The Colonials of Acton-Boxboro (9-1-1) took down New Hampshire’s five-time champion Hanover (3-1) on January 19th. Yesterday’s game with Westford Academy will need to be rescheduled. A-B will take on Billerica (Wednesday) and Andover (Saturday) this week. Olivia Keefe recently hit the 100-career point mark.

#6 Austin Prep had close-fought wins over Williams (2-1) and Winthrop/Lynn (3-1) to improve to a solid 9-1-1. The Cougars hope to find a way to solve the poll logjam in front of them. The only schedule game this week is against Wakefield, and tonight’s makeup with Central Catholic. AP still has two games left with Arlington Catholic (Feb. 4 and Feb. 14).

#7 Andover (8-3-2) is closing on tourney qualification. The Golden Warriors cooled off Tewksbury/Methuen on Friday by a 5-3 count and get Masconomet on Wednesday before taking on Acton-Boxboro this week.

#8 Watertown/Belmont (9-3-1) had the week off until this evening, when it scored a big 6-3 win over Woburn in a makeup tilt. The Maraiders can’t look past Lexington (Wednesday) and Wakefield (Saturday).

#9 Beverly/Danvers (7-2-1) posted league wins over Peabody and Medford this week, and can’t wait to take on Winthrop/Lynn, who knocked off the Panthers earlier this season,  on Wednesday.

A newcomer slides into the #10 spot. Chelmsford (8-2-2), led by senior scorer Julianne Sheehan, has a three-game week schedule with Leominster/St.Bernard (Monday), Haverhill/North Andover (Wednesday) and Central Catholic (Saturday).
