Longmeadow (3-3-1) played two games against Division 1 foes this past week, as they participated in the Songin Winter Classic in Walpole. In the opener, the Lancers fell to host Walpole, 4-2.
Longmeadow went on to earn a hard-fought tie against Lowell Catholic to stay at No. 1 this week.
Westfield (2-3-2) participated in the Cape Ann Savings Bank Tournament in Gloucester. In the opener, the Bombers were edged by Gloucester in a shootout in a game that officially was recorded as a 2-2 tie. Westfield earned a tie in the consolation game as well, 4-4 against Beverly.
West Springfield (4-2-0) moves up a spot after winning the Chicopee Winter Classic. The Terriers beat Chicopee Comp., 4-0 in the opener before downing Chicopee, 4-2, in the title game. Damon Polk is a player to watch for the Terriers.
Wahconah (3-0-1) hasn’t played since tying Belchertown back on December 20th . The Warriors
return to action January 2nd against Minnechaug.
Amherst-Pelham (5-1-0) has now won three games in a row. The Hurricanes beat East Longmeadow and Mount Everett this past week. Kouji Ishuda continues to pace the Amherst-Pelham offensive attack.
Minnechaug (2-4-0) drops three spots this week after falling to a pair of Central Mass. teams (Northbridge and Worcester) in the Grafton Holiday Tournament.
Belchertown (2-0-1) remained unbeaten on the season after their 3-0 win over Ludlow on Saturday. Junior goaltender Jake Delaney has been sharp early on for the Orioles.
Chicopee (4-1-0) beat Agawam, 5-1 in the opening game of the Chicopee Winter Classic before falling to No. 3 West Springfield, 4-2 in the title game. The Pacers move up one spot this week.
A three-game winning streak has Greenfield (3-1-0) back into the poll this week. South Hadley (3-1-1) rounds out the poll this week, taking the Christmas week off. The Tigers return to action January 4th against Drury.
