Johnny Mireault

* #15 Masconomet pulled off a huge upset knocking off last year’s reigning champions in #2 Canton, 4-2. Down 2-0 early and 2-1 with four minutes remaining, the Chieftains scored three times to advance to the Elite 8 to face Duxbury. Ben Merrill (2), Johnny Mireault and Anthony Cerbone each scored. Mireault had the game-winner and Chris Sacco was solid in goal.

* Two third period goals for Woburn were the difference in their 2-0 win over North Andover in the Round of 16. Darby Ciavardone and Jack McEleney each scored and Logan Roderick was outstanding in net with the shutout. The Tanners will next face Newburyport in the quarterfinal round.

* #5 Newburyport got its revenge on Gloucester beating the Fishermen 4-2 to advance to the Elite 8. Colby Arel, Will Palermino, Luke MacIsaac and Jack Sullivan all lit the lamp for the Clippers who face Woburn next.

David Pittenger

* Brady Walsh’s two goals propelled Duxbury to 5-1 win over Malden Catholic in the Round of 16. Chris Gillis, Mikey Yucius and David Pittenger all added a single tally and Anthony Rabeni had 19 saves between the pipes.

Jay Carter

* Senior captain Jay Carter’s hat trick gave Concord-Carlisle a 3-1 win over a gritty Whitman-Hanson team. The Patriots move on to face league foe Boston Latin for a third time this season in the Elite 8.

* Robert Banks‘ overtime winner gave Boston Latin a 3-2 win over Billerica in thrilling fashion. Matt Carrara scored twice for the Wolfpack who face Concord-Carlisle next.
