#1 Marblehead completed the final installment in their Cinderella run to the state finals, upsetting top-seeded Nauset in a 1-0 slugfest. The Headers turned a 0-6 start to their season into a state championship.

#2 Nauset was hamstrung from finding twine on the big stage after scoring 103 goals in the regular season. The Warriors made their first appearance in the state championship since 2004.

#4 Somerset Berkley took the Division 3 field by surprise, upsetting Essex Tech in a 6-0 thumping on their run to the Final 4.

West Springfield pieced together a pair of massive upsets, the first in a 3-0 win over #11 Danvers before a 5-2 rout of #4 Lynnfield in the Sweet 16. The #20 seed eventually fell to Somerset Berkley in the Elite 8.

Essex Tech was able to win a game in the tournament before falling to #12 Somerset Berkley in the Sweet 16. An up-and-down campaign for the Hawks ended in yet another upset.
