Canton (22-4-0) got the job done and got the redemption it needed as the Bulldogs closed out a spectacular season to win the MIAA Boys Divsion 2 State Championship with a 4-1 win over Hopkinton.
It certainly was a banner season for #2 Hopkinton (20-5-0), advancing all the way to the championship game, led by senior Pavit Mehra’s 40-goal season.
All season long #3 Duxbury (18-6-2) was amongst the premier teams in Division 2. The Dragons reached the semifinals and gave Canton all it could handle before bowing, 3-1.
#4 Walpole (15-7-2) also made it to Division 2’s final four, where the Timberwolves ran into the Hopkinton buzzsaw.
Norwood (14-7-2) ends up at #5. The Mustangs eliminated defending state champion and top seed Tewksbury in the Round of 16. The Redmen (19-2-1) are in the #6 spot.
