Mass. Boys HS Hockey – Division 2 Top 10: Despite Losses, Tewksbury, Canton Remain 1-2; Unbeaten Somerset-Berkley Now At #8

#1 Tewksbury remains at the top in this week’s HNIB News Massachusetts Boys Division 2 Top 10, despite losing its only game of the week to Division 1 Lincoln Sudbury, 2-1 in OT. The Redmen look to get back in the win column this week with two more games against D1 foes in Billerica and Acton-Boxboro.

Canton stays at #2 as they had a split week. The Bulldogs downed Foxboro 7-0 and lost their first game of the season, 2-0 to a strong Franklin team. They have Oliver Ames and King Philip this week.

#3 Silver Lake (7-1-1) continues to roll as they had another good week. The Lakers tied Hanover in a 1-1 battle and rallied to take down Plymouth North 5-4 in OT.

Duxbury (5-3-2) moves up a spot to #4. The Dragons blanked Pembroke 7-0 and lost to Marshfield 4-0 this week.

#5 Walpole (4-2-0) had a split week as well. The Timberwolves lost an OT battle to Framingham, 6-5, and then beat Weymouth 2-1.

Algonquin (6-2-0) moves up to #6 this week as it continues its strong start to the season. After beating Westboro 1-0 earlier in the week, the Titans beat Minnechaug 7-2 to close out a good week. Hopedale/Milford is next on Wednesday.

Plymouth South moves down one spot to #7 after losing 2-1 to rival Plymouth North in OT. They then beat North Quincy 5-2 to get back in the win column.

There is a new #8 as Somerset Berkley (7-0-0) enters the rankings, remaining undefeated on the season. The Raiders won their lone game of the week beating Dighton-Rehoboth/Seekonk 4-2.

Despite a 5-3 loss to Scituate, Whitman Hanson moves up a spot to #9. The Panthers have Dartmouth and Pembroke this week.

Rounding out the Top 10 this week is Hopkinton (6-2-0) which blanked Westwood 3-0 and lost 5-2 to Medfield.
