Last year’s Division 2 State Champion Tewksbury (22-2-0) ended as the number one team in the HNIB News D2 ranking, and that is where they will start the 2022-2023 campaign, as the Redmen begin their title defense.
Duxbury (14-10-1) will start at #2 after falling just short of the State Final last season. The Dragons have a good competitive squad that hopes to be there in the end.
Perennial power Canton (22-3-1), which reached the championship game a year ago, opens up at #3. After losing in the finals last season, the Bulldogs are hungry to get right back there.
#4 Walpole (13-8-2) has a huge senior class, which should be key for them this season as the Timberwolves hope to be competitive.
Norwood (19-3-1) comes in at #5 as coach Chuck Allen has a solid group returning after last year’s 19-win showing. Look for the Mustangs to be in the mix this season.
The Cape Ann League’s Newburyport (12-8-2) will start the season as our #6 as they have key members back on all fronts as they look to be competitive in a busy Division 2.
#7 Silver Lake (18-5-0) should be strong this season. Building off their 18-win last year, coach Dan Scott expects the Lakers to be tough this year, led be stellar senior blue liner Aidan Dunphy.
Westwood (12-8-1) will start the season at #8 as they look to qualify for their 40th straight post-season.
#9 Concord-Carlisle (10-11-0) returns key leadership up front and a good balance of upperclassmen and newcomers to make for an interesting season.
Rounding out the pre-season Top 10 in Division 3 is Wakefield (11-10-1) from the Middlesex League Freedom Division
