Jim Clark joined Hockey Night in Boston in December 2019, and has covered high school hockey in Massachusetts for more than three decades. He also covers high school hockey and is a multiplatform editor for the Boston Globe, and previously spent two decades as high school hockey reporter at the Boston Herald, where he also served as the high schools editor from 2000-06. Clark was honored by the Mass. State Hockey Coaches Association with its William Stewart Award for contributions to the sport in May 2019, and also received the Joel Perlmutter Award for media coverage in 2006. Joe Young Masconomet

Mike Bevilacqua tied the back-and-forth game with 2:30 left in regulation for Masco, which also got goals from Richie Guarino and Joe Young. Emerson Marshall scored twice and Jack Costanzo once for the Fishermen.

* In other NEC action, Matt McMillan had a goal and two assists for Masconomet in its 5-1 win over Swampscott. … Masconomet also skated away with a 4-1 nonleague win over Bishop Fenwick behind AJ Sacco’s hat trick as well as Cam Juliano’s first varsity goal.

* Jack Costanzo had a hat trick and Colby Jewell added a goal and two assists, lifting Gloucester to a 6-3 win over Beverly.

* Hayden Leveroni scored twice, including the game winner, and Marblehead edged Winthrop, 4-3. … Marblehead also rolled to a 9-0 win over Saugus, led by a hat trick from Connor Jalbert – including two in a span of seven seconds in the first period. Jalbert also had a pair of assists for the Magicians.

Aidan Dunphy Silver Lake

* Silver Lake also scored its first win over Duxbury since 1997 when Mark Kelleher scored with 3 seconds left in overtime for a 2-1 victory. Aiden Dunphy had the other goal for the Lakers before Michael Hussey tied things up for the Dragons.

* Kaden Bono posted the shutout and Plymouth North pulled off a 3-0 upset of Marshfield in the Patriot League.

* Lincoln Hennessey’s two goals supported the shutout goaltending of Tyler Holmes, backing Quincy to a 6-0 win over Plymouth South.

* Wyatt Glass scored with 49 seconds left, rallying Duxbury to a 1-1 tie with Plymouth North.

* Wilmington scored its first win over Burlington since 2013, a 4-1 victory behind Liam Crowley’s 25 saves as well as a pair of goals by Mike Daniels. William Alworth added a goal and assist, and Tristan DiMeco a goal for the Wildcats.

* Matt Elwell netted a hat trick and Gabe Brissette made his season debut with a shutout, lifting Wakefield to a 4-0 win over Wilmington. Joe Colliton had the other goal for the Warriors. … Wakefield also crunched Melrose, 7-0, on another Brissette shutout. Michael Parent and Joey O’Brien scored twice each, and Elwell had a goal and three assists.

Caden Connors Tewksbury

* Tewksbury got goals from five different players, led by Sean Lane’s goal and two assists, and remained unbeaten with a 5-1 win over Lincoln-Sudbury in the Dual County/Merrimack Valley 2. Matthew Cooke, Aaron Connelly, Jeremy Insogna and Caden Connors had the other goals for Tewksbury. … Connors also had a hat trick and two assists, and Jason Cooke added two goals for Tewksbury in its 8-0 blanking of Lowell.

* Dylan Zukowski earned the shutout for Newton South, which got goals from Ryan Quirk and Daniel Schwartzman in a 2-0 win over North Andover.

* Jay Carter notched the hat trick, which was the difference for Concord-Carlisle in its 5-2 win over Acton-Boxboro. Carter O’Brien (goal, two assists) and Jack Webster (goal) also contributed, and Jason Swaim made 20 saves.

Tommy Phaneuf Canton

* Canton picked up a big Hockomock League victory, avenging an early nonleague loss to Franklin, 2-1. Brian Middleton scored the winner for the Bulldogs, who also got a goal from Tommy Phaneuf.

* Andrew Livingstone scored twice and Oliver Ames edged Taunton, 4-3. Noah Isleib also scored his first varsity goal for the Tigers, and Jack Corey added one. Brandon Burke made 30 saves.

* Dillon Benoit scored twice and Chris Hormann made 15 saves for the shutout as Mansfield extended its win streak to three, beating Attleboro, 4-0.

* Nik Kojoian’s late goal pulled North Attleboro into a 2-2 tie with King Philip.

* Walpole knocked off Framingham, 3-2, in a Bay State Conference matchup as Grady Murphy scored the deciding goal with 7:22 to play.

* Zach McHugh’s two goals led Newburyport in a 5-0 Cape Ann League victory over Pentucket.

* In the Tri-Valley League, Ethan Barrows posted the shutout and Norwood improved to 6-0 with a 4-0 win over Medfield.

* Thomas Hauck scored with 37.8 seconds left in overtime, and Algonquin edged Leominster, 4-3 in a Roy Conference matchup.

* Leominster scored a 6-5 overtime win over Hudson on Zackary Warner-Senee’s goal at 2:25 of the extra period. Warner-Senee finished with two goals for the Blue Devils, and Tucker Mitton had a goal and three assists.

* Westboro battled North Middlesex to a 2-2 tie on goals from Bradan Duggan and Will Gravell.

* Longmeadow skated past Greenfield, 4-1, in a WMass nonleague game as Rob Croteau, Ian Jarosa and Joe Mikaelin each had a goal and assist.

Matt Solari Whitman-Hanson

* Zakk Spano scored his first career goal and added an assist to lift Whitman-Hanson past Lexington, 5-4, in a nonleague matchup. Joe Culley (two goals, assist), Matt Solari (goal, two assists) and Alex Ethier (goal, assist) chipped in offensively for the Panthers.

* Brandon Silva made 24 saves, Mason Sullivan scored twice and Somerset Berkley blanked Taunton, 3-0. Noah Taylor had the other goal for the Raiders.
