Mass. Boys HS Hockey – Division 2 Highlights: Falmouth, Plymouth South Earn Overtime Wins

Troy Takesian
North Andover

* North Andover picked up a 3-2 win against Boston Latin. Terrell Peoples had a big game with two goals and an assist. Trey Sheehy chipped in a goal and two assists and Troy Takesian had 33 saves between the pipes.

Logan Souza Plymouth South

* Logan Souza’s two goals, including the overtime winner, were the difference in Plymouth South’s 3-2 win over Hanover. Sean McNamara also scored and Ollie Noyes had 22 saves in goal.

Charlie Bardelis Falmouth

* Charlie Bardelis’ overtime winner helped Falmouth edge Martha’s Vineyard 2-1 in a Cape and Islands battle.

* King Philip earned their biggest win of the season yet with a 5-4 win over Franklin. Rowan Bulger scored twice and Grady Bianculli, Sam Naggar and Jack Morgan all added single tallies as the Warriors beat the Panthers.

Andrew Livingstone Oliver Ames

* Oliver Ames shutout Mansfield in a 3-0 win. Andrew Livingstone, Jack Corey and Brendan Teehan all scored for the Tigers.

* Concord-Carlisle stayed hot with a 5-1 win over Algonquin. Senior captain Jay Carter had a five-point game (2G, 3A).  Freshman Joe Grasso had two goals and Will Manchuso chipped in a goal and two assists.

Zach Boss

* Whitman-Hanson rallied late to earn a 3-3 tie with Duxbury. Bill Morgan, Chris Ryan and Zach Boss scored for the Panthers. The Dragons got goals from Liam Kailher, Will Atallah and Brady Walsh.

* Gloucester snapped a four-game losing streak with a 2-1 win over Danvers. Chris Karvelas scored the game winning goal late in the third period. Brett Cunningham scored on a penalty shot for the Fishermen in the first.

* Tewksbury shut out Acton-Boxboro 7-0 behind two goals apiece from Jeremy Insogna and Anthony DiFranco. The Redmen also got goals from Tyler Barnes, Jackson Feudo and Cooper Robillard.

Jackson Devivo Newburyport

* Newburyport blanked Essex Tech 4-0 for a big league win. Jackson DeVivo led the attack with a hat trick, Owen Kreuz also scored and Damien Lamb earned his third shutout in goal.

* Norwood took down a tough Norton team by a score of 6-2. Andrew Gillis and TJ Martin each lit the lamp twice for the Mustangs. Nick Berardinelli and Jacob Sheehan also scored.

* Hopkinton earned a big 3-1 win over Medway. Jack Resnick and Connor Merkle both scored and Steven Jackson was solid in net for the Hillers.
