Brendan Tourgee Canton

* The reigning Division 2 champions are picking up right where they left off. After a 5-0 win over Lincoln-Sudbury to open the season, Canton beat Falmouth 6-2 where Brendan Clegg and Ryan Elrick earned their first varsity goals. On Saturday, the Bulldogs blanked Barnstable 5-0 behind two goals each from Brendan Tourgee and Pat Drury and Cam Guershuny’s first varsity goal.

* After starting the season with a 5-2 loss to St. John’s Shrewsbury, Duxbury won their next two games in impressive fashion. The Dragons came away with a 6-4 win over Whitman-Hanson behind a five-goal night from Chris Gillis. Mikey Yucius also added a goal. Duxbury then went on to defeat Silver Lake 5-1 with two from Gillis, and single goals from Yucius, Tucker O’Neil and Cole Martin.

Matthew Cooke Tewksbury

* Tewksbury is off to a 2-0 start on the young season with wins over Acton-Boxboro and Newton South. The Redmen beat Acton-Boxboro 6-2 behind the first career goals from junior Jay Lavoie, sophomore Ben Christopher and freshmen KJ Andriolo and Jason Shreenan. Senior Jeremy Insogna also scored twice. On Saturday, the Redmen beat Newton South 6-2 behind two more from Insogna and single tallies from Tyler Bourgea, Matt Cooke, Cullen Mangan and Tyler Barnes.

Nate DiMartinis Walpole

* Walpole had a huge 3-2 win over a Division 1 Braintree team in comeback fashion. Down 2-0, Ryan Walsh got the Timberwolves on the board. Nate DiMartinis had the tying goal and Owen McKenna the winning goal to improve them to 1-1 on the season.

Sam Lally

* Norwood is off to a quick 2-0 on the season. The Mustangs opened with a 2-1 win over Ashland on goals from Sam Lally and the game-winner from Ryan Valeri. The Mustangs then beat Medfield 4-1 behind two goals from Andrew Gillis and single tallies from Lally and Valeri.

Pat Murphy
Silver Lake

* Silver Lake opened up the 2023-24 season with an overtime thriller in a 5-4 win over Bridgewater-Raynham. Senior captain Pat Murphy was the hero scoring three times including the game-winner in overtime. David Solari had the game-tying goal with 10 seconds left to play in regulation.

Jay Carter

* Concord-Carlisle is off to a strong start with two big wins to open the season. They started with an 8-5 win over Gloucester where Jay Carter and Theo Price both scored twice. Joe Grasso, Jack Pesce, Trevor Bailey and Cam Doull also scored and Will Manchuso added five assists. The Patriots improved to 2-0 with a 6-3 win over Lincoln-Sudbury where Carter and Manchuso each had hat tricks and CJ Bailey had 30 saves in net.

* Newburyport has won its first three games. After beating Essex Tech 2-1 to open the season, the Clippers have since knocked off both Bishop Fenwick and Triton. Jackson DeVivo and Tristan Joyce each scored third period goals in a 2-0 win over Bishop Fenwick. In a thrilling game with Triton, the Clipper got off to a strong start with goals by Joyce and Graham Luskin. After Triton took a 3-2 lead, Will Palermino tied the score at three. Colby Arel scored the game-winner and Caden Eiserman sealed it with an empty-netter for the 5-3 win.

* Oliver Ames played to a 5-5 tie against a tough Plymouth South team. Landon Grothe, Matt Lawson, Andy Poulos, Andrew Livingstone and Shaun Teehan all scored for the Tigers.

Jack McEleney Woburn

* Woburn is off to a strong start in the Middlesex League with two wins to begin the season. The Tanners beat Stoneham 4-1 behind a hat trick from Jack Lee and a goal from Finn Murphy, and four assists from Jack McEleney. Logan Roderick had 23 saves in net. They improved to 2-0 with a 6-2 win over Wakefield. Avery Powers led the way with a hat trick and Matt Mahoney, Lee, and McEleney all had one goal apiece.

Colby Jewell Gloucester

* Gloucester defeated Marblehead 3-2 to earn its first win of the season. Senior Colby Jewell scored the game-winner on a short-handed goal. Charlie Terelak and Cade Cooper also scored for the Fishermen. They also defeated Beverly 4-1 on two goals by Jackson Hakes and single tallies from Jewell and Giacomo Martell.

* Masconomet earned its first win of the season beating Marblehead 6-5. Ben Merrill scored twice and Johnny Mireault, Jack Fabiano, Evan O’Heir and Brady Forde also scored for the 1-1 Chieftains.
