– #3 Hingham made yet another statement Wednesday, downing #2 Catholic Memorial, 3-1, before a packed house at Pilgrim Arena. Joe Hennessey opened the scoring for the Harbormen (10-1-5), Travis Rugg notched the game-winner, and Ace Concannon sealed it with an empty-netter. Luke McLellan was huge in goal. Danny Collins scored all four of Winchester’s goals as the Red & Black stunned #6 Belmont, 4-3. David Strong assisted on three of those goals and Max Lowenberg had 25 saves.

– Woburn surprised #7 Reading, grabbing a 4-1 win behind the two-goal performances of Derek Santullo and Jack Lee.

Christian Thoren scored twice and added an assist, and Shrewsbury also got goals from Carter Marques, Connor Mudd, Shawn Salt and Andrew Peris in a non-league win over Algonquin.

Ben Paterson

– #10 Franklin downed Taunton, 5-1. Ben Paterson scored two goals for the Panthers. Also lighting the lamp were Dylan McEvoy, Ben Jarosz and Tommy Balducci.

– In a wild one at the New England Sports Center, St. John’s (S) outlasted Lincoln-Sudbury, 7-5. Luke Gerardi and Jack Beauregard both had a pair of goals to lead the attack. Sean Farrell, Luke May and Daniel Menyalkin all had goals as well.

– Behind two goals from Ryan Nelken, and two assists from Nick Burns, Westford Academy knotted up Central Catholic, 2-2, in the MVC/Dual County I. Ghosts’ goalie Tyler Frazee had 30 saves.

– In a big win over Barnstable, Xaverian got hat tricks from both Joe DiMartino and Colvin Callahan, and a six-point night (2-4) from Gavin Moynihan.

– Needham went above the .500 mark with a 3-0 shutout win over Milton. Matt Rutter, Will Saratella and Jake Sieczkowski each had a goal and junior Dylan Michelow made 28 saves for the shutout.

Kyle Hutchinson Braintree

– St. Mary’s broke a six-game winless streak (0-4-2), getting past Bridgewater-Raynham, 3-2, in overtime. Brady Bullock had the winner for the Spartans, while Cam McGonagle and Ben Fry both scored.

Kyle Hutchinson had a hat trick in Braintree’s 4-1 win over Framingham. Charlie DiMartino had a goal and Drew Coady picked up a pair of assists for the Wamps.
