There’s a new No. 1 in Class B as Hampden Academy moves into the top spot. They had the week off and get back to action on Tuesday against Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence. They host Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostock on Wednesday and Presque Isle on Saturday.
The Broncos got a boost when No. 2 Cheverus lost 6-4 to Portland/Deering on Saturday. The Stags defeated Cape Elizabeth on Thursday. Cheverus has Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills on Thursday and Yarmouth on Saturday. Both games are at home.
No. 3 Greely maintains its spot with a 4-3 victory in overtime against Falmouth while skating to a 1-1 tie with Scarborough on Saturday. The Rangers travel to York on Thursday.
No. 4 Gorham took care of business with a 4-2 win over Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle on Thursday. The Rams host Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester on Saturday.
No. 5 Messlonskee defeated Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble 5-2 on Saturday. The Eagles travel to Gardiner Thursday and Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence on Saturday.
No. 6 Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth’s game against Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester from Saturday hasn’t been reported. They travel to John Bapst/MDI/Bangor Christian on Saturday.
No. 7 Presque Isle moves up with a 5-3 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence on Saturday. They have No. 1 Hampden Academy on Saturday.
No. 8 Old Town/Orono moves up with a 4-2 victory over No. 9 Camden Hills on New Year’s Day. They picked up their second win of the week on Friday defeating Waterville/Winslow 8-3 and defeated Gardiner 6-1 on Saturday. The Black Bears host John Bapst/MDI/Bangor Christian on Thursday. The Windjammers bounced back from the 4-2 loss to Old Town/Orono with a 4-2 win on Saturday against Brunswick. Camden Hills host Brewer on Wednesday and Waterville/Winslow on Saturday.
No. 10 York had the week off and host Greely on Thursday and Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse on Saturday.
