Class B North quarterfinals

No. 2 Messalonskee 3, No. 7 Gardiner/Waterville/Winslow 0

Hunter Hallee recorded 21 saves in a shutout for the Eagles against the Tigers on Wednesday. Owen Kirk put Messalonskee up 1-0 in the first period. The game remained that way until the third stanza when Bryce Crowell scored midway through the period and Andrew Beckwith scored shortly after. Aiden Paradis kept Gardiner/Waterville/Winslow in the game making 48 saves. Messalonskee hosts Presque Isle on Saturday.

No. 3 Presque Isle 7, No. 6 Old Town/Orono 3

Dawson Kinney had a hat trick and an assist to lead the Wildcats past the Black Bears. Isaac Staples had a goal and two assists. Logan Sherman, Ethan Carlisle and Breygan Mahan had a goal and an assist in the win. Nathan Cullina scored and assisted on a goal for Old Town/Orono. Ian Bouchard and Ridge Mitchell also scored.

The teams had a hot start to the game, trading goals back and forth. It ended up a 3-3 tie after 15 minutes. Presque Isle opened the game up in the middle frame by scoring three times and adding a tally in the third period. Connor Bell made 32 saves in the victory and Brock Parks stopped 22 shots in the loss. Presque Isle takes on Messalonskee in the regional semifinals.

No. 4 Hampden Academy 2, No. 5 Camden Hills 1

The Broncos came from behind to defeat the Windjammers, defending Class B North champions. Tucker Leland evened the game at 1-1 in the middle frame and then Keith Brooks scored the game-winning goal for Hampden Academy. Owen McManus scored a shorthanded tally for Camden Hills for a 1-0 advantage. Hampden Academy takes on John Bapst/Hermon/Bangor Christian/Deer Isle-Stonington Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Class B South quarterfinals

No. 3 Cheverus/Yarmouth 6, No. 6 Gorham 4

Cheverus/Yarmouth survived the Rams’ upset attempt on Wednesday. Brian Connolly scored twice in the win and Cole Allen had two goals for Gorham. Allen scored his first 24 seconds into the game before Connolly tied it up just past the eight-minute mark of the first period. Truman Peters gave Cheverus/Yarmouth a 2-1 lead early in the middle frame before Andrew Gaudreau got the Rams back to even nearly six minutes into the period.

Connolly scored midway through the second period giving Cheverus/Yarmouth a 3-2 lead heading into the third period. David Swift gave Cheverus/Yarmouth its first two-goal lead in the third period. Emmitt Sullivan scored for Gorham 6:35 into the third. He finished with three points. Andrew Cheever scored 27 seconds late giving Cheverus/Yarmouth a 5-3 lead. Cheever also had an assist in the game. Allen scored with 2:37 remaining in the game getting Goham within a goal. However, Colby Carnes scored an empty-net goal at the buzzer. Neil McQuarrie had 12 saves in the win and Jasper Crane had 32 saves in the loss. Cheverus/Yarmouth takes on second-seeded Cape Elizabeth on Friday.

No. 4 York 4, No. 5 Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 1

The Wildcats scored four answered goals en route to a victory over the Kings. Down 1-0 in the second period, Luke Douris evened the game at 1-1 for York, with Shea Buckley recording the assist. Russell Henson, Brandon Briggs, and Garrett Aceto all had third-period tallies for the Wildcats. Will Keach scored in the opening frame for Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester. York faces No. 1 Brunswick on Saturday.
