Thornton Academy remains the No. 1 team in the HNIB News Maine Class A with an 8-4 victory against Biddeford/Massebesic/Old Orchard Beach on Wednesday. They travel to face No. 2 Falmouth this Thursday and host Brunswick Saturday.
Falmouth had a big week, defeating Scarborough 6-3 and Edward Little 4-1. The showdown with the Golden Trojans is their lone game of the week.
No. 3 Edward Little bounced back Saturday with a 6-3 over rival Lewiston. The Red Eddies travel to Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills on Monday and have a home game against Bangor Saturday.
No. 4 Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble started the week with a 2-0 victory against Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle/Sacopee on Tuesday and a 9-2 win against Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde on Saturday. The Knighthawks host York on Monday and Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills on Saturday.
After the loss to Falmouth, No. 5 Scarborough dropped a 3-2 decision to Yarmouth/Cheverus on Thursday. The Red Storm travel to South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete on Wednesday and host Lewiston on Saturday.
No. 6 Fryeburg/Lake Region/Oxford Hills defeated Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde 9-2 on before falling to Gardiner/Waterville/Winslow 5-1 on Saturday. After the game against Edward Little, the Ice Cats travel to Windham/Westbrook/Bonny Eagle/Sacopee on Wednesday before facing Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble.
No. 7 South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete returns to the rankings after defeating St. Dom’s 1-0 this week. The Red Riots host Scarborough on Wednesday.
