Portland/Deering 4, South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete 2
Danny Tocci had two goals to help lead Portland/Deering to a 4-2 victory over rivals South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete. Colby Winship and Nick McGonagle also scored for Portland/Deering. Dylan Hannan scored twice for the Red Riots in the loss.
Edward Little 7, St. Dominic Academy 0
The Edward Little Red Eddies had three players score two goals each as they defeated crosstown rivals St. Dominic Academy. Jack Keefe scored both of his goals in the first half and added an assist. Aidan Gonzalez scored in each half and also had an assist. Sophomore Xander St. Pierre scored two goals in the second half which were both assisted by Campbell Cassidy. Cassidy also scored in the second halve. Gage Ducharme made nine saves for the shutout for the Red Eddies while Nathan Jones turned aside 15 shots.
Cape Elizabeth 4, Kennebunk 0
Will Gordon and Sebastian Moon potted two goals as the Capers defeated the Rams. Nick Laughlin set up Gordon’s first goal in the first half to put Cape Elizabeth up 1-0. Moon scored the next two goals with Devin Blackburn assisting on the first goal and Connor Goss assisting on the second. Oskar Frankwicz had the assist on Gordon’s goal in the second half.
Brunswick 3, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 1
AJ Wolverton had two goals to lift the Brunswick Dragons past rival Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse Eagles. Henry Burnham added an empty net goal. Johnny Hole opened the scoring giving the Eagles a 1-0 with Bryce Poulin and Brandon Durant notching the assists. Sean Moore made 45 saves for the Eagles while Spencer Marquis made eight saves for Brunswick.
Gardiner 5, Mt. Ararat 0
Nate Luiz had a hat trick to lift the Gardiner Tigers past the Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse Eagles. Darien Jamison and Connor Whitley also scored for the Tigers
Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 2, Bonny Eagle/Windham/Westbrook 1
Reese Collins potted the game-winner two minutes into overtime as the Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester Kings defeated the Bonny Eagle/Windham/Westbrook Trailblazers 2-1. Travis Brown opened the scoring in the first half (boys hockey is playing two 23-minute halves due to COVID-19 protocols) to give the Trailblazers a 1-0 lead. Spenser Berube tied the game in the first half for the Kings. Freshman Ian Guerin made 32 saves for the Kings while Issaac White made16 saves for the Trailblazers.
Lewiston 6, Brunswick 0
The Blue Devils were led by sophomore forward Daxton St. Hilaire as he had two goals and an assist for Lewiston in a 6-0 victory over Brunswick. Tanner Anctil had a goal and an assist, and Mason Beaudoin, Damon Bossie and Ethan Blue each scored for Lewiston. Keegan McLaughlin earned the shutout for the Blue Devils while Spencer Marquis and Luke Patterson each played a half for the Dragons.
Edward Little 5, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 1
Jack Keefe potted a hat trick as the Red Eddies defeated the Eagles 5-1. Xander St. Pierre and Trey Coulombe also had goals for Edward Little. Tanner Robleto scored for the Eagles.
Lewiston 7, Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray New Gloucester 1
Mason Beaudoin had a hat trick as the Blue Devils defeated the Kings 7-1. Cooper St. Hilaire had a goal and two assists while Cody Dionne, Cole Ullrich and Evan Knowlton also scored. Daxton St. Hilaire had four assists.
Greely 5, Falmouth 3
Evan Dutil led the Rangers with two goals and an assist as they beat rival Falmouth 5-3. Zach Dubbert and Alex Wallace each potted a goal and an assist while Brooks Williams also scored. Falmouth tried to dig out of a 3-0 deficit in the second half with Owen Drummey, Xavier Grenier and Cam Charron scoring. Charlie Adams had two assists.
Cheverus/Yarmouth 3, Portland/Deering 1
Cheverus/Yarmouth took the “City Cup” mini tournament among the Portland area schools with a 3-1 victory over the Portland/Deering Bulldogs. The teams each scored a goal in the first half with Matt Robichaud scoring for Cheverus/Yarmouth and Max Cheever answering for the Bulldogs. Cal Oliver and Jackson Header each scored in the second half for Cheverus/Yarmouth. Bryson Pomerleau stopped 20 of 21 shots he faced for Cheverus/Yarmouth and Ryan Becker turned aside 26 shots for the Bulldogs.
Scarborough 3, Cape Elizabeth 2
The Scarborough Red Storm had three different goal scorers en route to a 3-2 victory over Cape Elizabeth Capers. Zach Chaisson scored 21 seconds into the contest and Grover Wallace scored to put the Red Storm up 2-0 in the first half. Dimitri Coupe scored for the Capers before halftime. Michael Velente scored the eventual winner in the second half for the Red Storm. Coupe also scored in the second half. Keegan Weed made 27 saves for his victory as a varsity starter for Scarborough.
