Lewiston 13, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 3
Joe Bisson paced the Blue Devils with four goals. Six more came from the trio of Alex Rivet, Alex Robert and Jeromey Rancourt, who each had two goals apiece. Jean-Luc Dostie, Caden Smith and Tanner Cortes each had a goal. Noah Austin had a goal and an assist in the losing effort. Sam Alexander and Mark Abreau also scored in the loss.
St. Dom’s 3, Bangor 1
The Saints handed the Rams their first regular-season loss in the opening round of the St. Dominic Academy Christmas Classic. The Saints jumped out to a 2-0 lead late in the second period with goals from Mack Pelletier and Will Fletcher 30 seconds apart. Noah Toussaint scored an empty net goal late in the third period. With under 30 seconds left to play, Alex Inman of Bangor ended Kyle Welsh’s shutout bid. Welsh made 25 saves while Derek Fournier stopped 14 shots for Bangor.
Windham/Westbrook 3, Lawrence/Skowhegan 2, OT
Jack Gresh scored in overtime to give the Eagles a 3-2 victory over the Bandits. Gresh also assisted on the Eagles first goal. Ethan McCoubrey of Windham/Westbrook tied the game at two late in the second period. The Bandits got goals from Ryan Savage and Sam Craig. Sean White made 23 saves in the victory while Curtis Martin stopped 26 shots in the loss.
Biddeford 3, Thornton Academy 0
In the Battle of the Bridge, the Tigers toppled the Golden Trojans on New Year’s Eve Day. Ricky Ruck had a goal and an assist to lead the Tigers while Colin Lavigne and Brady Crepeau also scored. Owen Sullivan only needed to make 16 saves for the shutout.
Scarborough 3, Cheverus 0
The Red Storm scored all three goals on the man advantage en route to the victory. Brett Rockey, Mason Parks and Skylar Pettingill were the goal scorers. Brandon Wasser earned the shutout with 18 saves. Colby Benway stopped 23 shots for Cheverus.
John Bapst 2, Camden Hills 0
The Crusaders picked up their first win of the season over the Windjammers. Jacob Larochelle and Cameron Dyer picked up the goals.
Yarmouth 5, Gorham 3
With the game tied at three in the third period, Cooper May and Bill Jacobs each scored to give the Clippers a victory over the Rams. Chris Romano had a pair of goals in the victory while Matt Sanborn had a goal. Nick Gray had two goals for the Rams and Carter Landry also found the back of the net. Dan Latham made 23 saves for the Clippers while Noah Bird stopped 22 shots.
