Maine Highlights: Class B Brunswick Picks Up A Pair Of Impressive Wins

Class A

Windham/Westbrook 3, Marshwood//Noble/Traip/Sanford 2

Austin White scored 1:23 in overtime to give the Trail Blazers a 3-2 victory over the Knighthawks. Jordan Cantz who had the assist on White’s goal, had the game-tying goal. Hunter Jellison gave the Trail Blazers the 1-0 lead in the first period. Colby Berren had a goal and an assist while John Joe Reeve also scored for the Knighthawks. Porter Krause made 19 saves for the Trail Blazers and Austin Ledger made 28 saves for the Knighthawks.

Lewiston 6, Bangor 2

Drew St. Hilaire had two goals for the Blue Devils. Owen Cox had a goal and two assists for the Blue Devils. Ryan Pomerleau, Logan Tripp and Michael Belleau scored for Lewiston. Keegan McLaughlin made 18 saves in the victory. Aidan Scripture scored in the first period for the Rams while Zach Burpee scored in the third period. Jake Hirsch made 37 saves.

Biddeford/Massabesic/Old Orchard 4, Thornton Academy 3

Monty LeClerc played the role of hero as he scored in the overtime as the BOOM defeated its rival Golden Trojans. Also scoring for Biddeford/Massabesic/Old Orchard Beach were Jaime Sperlich, Trevor Ouellette and James Monson. Finding the back of the net for the Golden Trojans were Alex St. John, Tyler Snell and Eli Pendergrass.

South Portland/Waynflete

South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete 3 St. Dom’s 0

Gus Lappin scored twice to lead the Red Riots. Liam McGibbon made 20 saves for the shutout. Deven Hannan had the other goal for the Red Riots while Dylan Hannah had two assists. Alex Roy made 30 saves for the Saints.

Falmouth 3, Windham/Westbrook 0

The Yachtsmen scored two first-period goals en route to defeating the Trail Blazers. Owen Drummey and Cam Charron scored power play goals in the opening frame while Shane Allen scored in the third period. Sam Kidder made seven saves for the shutout. Isaac White made 21 saves for the Trail Blazers.

Class B

Brunswick 5, York 3

Tommy Labbe had a pair of goals to lift the Dragons. Sam Cassidy and Scout Masse each had a goal and an assist while Sam Masse had a goal. Grey Perham had two assists. Henry Burham had three assists. Luke Doughty, Aidan Dowling and Tyler Conant each had a goal for the Wildcats. Colin Butters had two assists. Luke Patterson had 17 saves for the Dragons while Domenic Carlson made 28 saves in the loss for York.

Camden Hills

Camden Hills 2, Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence 0

The Windjammers scored twice in the first period. Levi Guay opened the scoring, as he finished off a feed from Jakob Johnson and Andrew Orne 4:26 into the period. Charlie Griebel scored the insurance marker with just under six minutes remaining in the first period. Jackson Bernier made nine saves for the Windjammers. Adrian O’Connell made 39 saves for the Hawks.

Cheverus

Cheverus 4, Gorham 2

The Stags score four unanswered goals to topple the Rams. Jaden Morin and Wyatt Header had goals to tie the game at two for Cheverus while Jackson Wilson provided the game-winning goal and the insurance marker. Kevin Connolly had two assists. Bryson Pomerleau made 13 saves for Cheverus. Aidan Enck and Jack Reidy scored in the first period for Gorham to jump out to a 2-0 lead. Jasper Crane made 13 saves for Gorham.

Old Town/Orono 6, Brewer 3

Sam Henderson had a hat trick and Zach Needham had a pair of goals in the Black Bears win. Tanner Evans had a goal and an assist in the victory while Dylan Street had two assists. Liam Spaulding scored twice for the Witches and Kevin Moreau had a goal. Aidan Rand made 18 saves for the Black Bears while Tyler St. Lawrence made 39 saves for Brewer.

Brunswick 6, Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse 0

Isaac Burtis had a goal and three assists while Liam Hemberger and Tommy Labby each had a goal and two assists in the Dragons’ win. Sam Cassidy had a goal and an assist. Michael and Nick Marro each had a goal. Spencer Marquis made seven saves in the victory. Ben Milson and Sean Moore combined to make 39 saves for the Eagles.
