Maine Class B Top 10: Top-ranked Old Town/Orono shoots to close with a rush

No. 1 Old Town/Orono got back to its winning ways with an 8-3 win over John Bapst on Monday and then scored a 7-2 win over Brewer on Saturday. They host Camden Hills on Monday and travel to Hampden Academy on Wednesday.

No. 2 Cape Elizabeth remains in place with a 4-1 victory over Yarmouth on Saturday. Their regular season ends Thursday as they host Gorham.

No. 3 Greely defeated Scarborough 3-0 on Tuesday and defeated Camden Hills 7-2 on Saturday. They have two big games to wrap the season up as they travel to Yarmouth on Monday and Class A St. Dom’s on Wednesday

No. 4 York moves up with a 5-1 win over Marshwood/Traip/Sanford on Monday before falling to Class A Cheverus 3-0 on Thursday. They host Gardiner on Monday and Kennebunk/Wells on Thursday.

No. 5 Hampden Academy defeated Brewer 7-1 on Wednesday but fell to Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin 3-2 on Friday. They host Old Town/Orono Wednesday.

No. 6 Presque Isle drops a couple of spots after falling to Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin on Tuesday 4-1. They wrap the year up by hosting Lawrence/Skowhegan/MCI on Monday.

No. 7 Waterville/Winslow stays put despite starting the week with a 6-5 overtime loss to Gardiner. They had back-to-back 2-1 wins to finish the regular season as they defeated Camden Hills on Wednesday and Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin on Saturday.

No. 8 Yarmouth stays steady with a 2-1 win over Edward Little on Monday before falling to Cape Elizabeth 4-1 on Saturday. They host Greely on Monday and Gardiner on Thursday.

No. 9 Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin moves up with the wins over Presque Isle and Hampden Academy this week. They did suffer that loss to Waterville/Winslow. Their season ends with them traveling down to Lawrence/Skowhegan/MCI on Wednesday. .

No. 10 Gorham picked up a 8-1 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison on Saturday. They have Kennebunk/Wells on Tuesday at home before traveling to Cape Elizabeth on Thursday.
