Maine Class B Top 10: Old Town/Orono Continues To Take Care Of Business

Top-ranked Old Town/Orono took care of business this week with a 12-0 win over Messalonskee Thursday and a 2-1 victory over Hampden Academy on Saturday. They travel to Messalonskee Saturday for a rematch versus the Eagles.

No. 2 Greely had the holiday week off from regular season action. They face Class A South powers Falmouth on Tuesday and Biddeford on Thursday. Both games will take place at their home rink, Falmouth Family Ice, but they will be considered they away team against Falmouth as the Yachtsmen also call it home.

The Gorham Rams move up to No. 3, sitting idle as they took part in a holiday tournament this week. They travel to Brunswick Wednesday and host Edward Little on Saturday.

N0. 4 Presque Isle lost to Waterville/Winslow 8-5 on Friday and came back with a 11-0 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain. They face Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain again on Friday and travel to John Bapst on Saturday.

Cape Elizabeth falls to No. 5 losing a 3-2 nailbiter to Biddeford on Saturday. They host Yarmouth Thursday and travel to Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester on Saturday.

No. 6 Waterville/Winslow also defeated Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin this week in addition to their win over Presque Isle. They host Hampden Academy Wednesday and travel to Camden Hills on Saturday.

No. 7 Brunswick defeated Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 4-2 on Saturday. They have the showdown versus Gorham on Wednesday and take on Gardiner on Saturday

No. 8 Camden Hills  lost to Hampden Academy 4-1 on Wednesday before bouncing back with a 9-1 victory over Messalonskee Saturday. Waterville/Winslow is their lone game to start the new year.

No. 9 Gardiner defeated Kennebunk/Wells 3-1 on Saturday. They host York on Thursday and travel to Brunswick on Saturday.  The No. 10 York Wildcats sat idle this week. They travel to Gardiner on Tuesday while hosting  Kennebunk/Wells on Thursday and Thornton Academy Saturday.
