Maine Class B Top 10: #1 Hampden Academy Continues To Lead The Field

No. 1 Hampden Academy defeated Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostock on Wednesday and the Broncos skated to a 5-5 tie with Presque Isle on Saturday. They travel to Waterville/Winslow on Saturday.

No. 2 Cheverus defeated Lake Region/Fryeburg Academy/Oxford Hills 2-0 on Thursday and its game against Yarmouth was postponed on Saturday. The Stags travel to Gorham and Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse on Saturday.

No. 3 Greely defeated York 3-1 on Thursday and the Rangers host Thornton Academy on Saturday.

The No. 4 Gorham Rams defeated Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 3-2 on Saturday. The game against Cheverus is the lone game of the week.

Presque Isle moves up to the fifth spot with the tie against Hampden Academy. The Wildcats host Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostock on Tuesday and travel to Orono/Old Town on Saturday.

No. 6 Old Town/Orono defeated John Bapst/MDI/Bangor Christian 8-1 on Thursday. The Black Bears travel to Brewer on Wednesday before the showdown against Presque Isle.

No. 7 Messalonskee started the week with a 4-1 loss to Gardiner on Thursday before defeating Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence 7-3 on Saturday. The Eagles host John Bapst/MDI/Bangor Christian on Saturday.

No. 8 Camden Hills had two ties this week when the Windjammers battled Brewer to a scoreless draw and ended Saturday’s game against Waterville/Winslow 2-2. They travel to Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence on Tuesday.

No. 9 Brunswick defeated Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 3-2 on Monday and a 2-1 victory in overtime against Edward Little in overtime. The Dragons host rival Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse on Wednesday before traveling to Yarmouth on Saturday.

No. 10 Cony lost to Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester 8-1 on Jan. 4 and suffered a 4-1 loss to John Bapst/MDI/Bangor Christian on Saturday this past Saturday. They travel to Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison/Spruce Mountain/Lawrence on Thursday and Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills on Saturday.
