No. 4 Presque Isle 4, No. 1 Hampden Academy 1

Connor DeMerchant started to get the ball rolling for the Wildcats as he scored twice in the first minute of the middle frame en route to the win over the top-seeded Broncos. Colby Carlisle continued the momentum for the Wildcats as he scored 74 seconds into the second period. Khaleb Hale put the Broncos on the board at the 4:17 mark of the third period. Jonah Roy added an empty netter for the Wildcats.

Old Town/Orono

No. 2 Old Town/Orono 6, No. 6 Messalonskee 5

Tanner Evans sparked the Black Bears as he potted two goals and Tyler McCannell scored the eventual game-winner as OTO outlasted the Eagles. Zach Needham, Sam Henderson and Jackson Campbell each had a goal for Orono/Old Town.Down 5-3 in the third period, Dylan Cunningham cut the deficit to 5-4 before McCannel made it 6-4. Cunningham also scored the Eagles’ final goal in the final two minutes. Myles Hammond had a goal in each period for the hat trick for the Eagles.

South Regional

No. 1 Greely 7, No. 4 Gorham 1

The Rangers raced out to a 4-0 lead and overpowered the Rams. Andy Moore and Gage Cooney each had two goals for Greely. Moore scored a goal in the first and second period while Cooney’s goals came in the third period. Alexander Wallace had a goal in the second period while assisting on Evan Dutil’s first period goal. Dutil also had an assist. Zachary Dubbert also scored a goal for the Rangers. Aidan Enck scored late in the second stanza for Gorham with Aiden Owens and Jonah Bird assisting. Jared Swisher made 22 saves.

No. 6 Cape Elizabeth 4, No. 2 Cheverus 3 (OT)

Gavin Simopoulos scored 46 seconds into overtime to give the Capers the upset. The teams traded goals throughout the game with Jackson Wilson scoring 21 seconds into the game for Cheverus before Andrew Carroll responded for Cape Elizabeth two minutes into the second period. Cheverus took a 2-1 lead just before the five-minute mark with Jack Chaput and Nick Giancotti picking up the assists.

The Capers scored two straight goals as Jonas Moon tied the game with William Gordon and Carroll setting the goal up with 3:42 remaining in the middle of the frame. Oskar Frankwicz put Cape Elizabeth on top 3-2 early in the third period with Simopolous having the only assist. Wilson tied the game at three with his second of the contest and Chaput recording his second assist of the game. William Depke made 14 saves for the win for the Capers and Bryce Pomerleau made 22 saves for the Stags
