Maine Class B Poll: Tough tests loom for #2 York

The No. 1 Waterville Purple Panthers continue to roll. On Tuesday they demolished rival Winslow, 14-1, in their lone game of this past week. They travel to No. 7 Hampden Academy for a showdown with the Broncos on Wednesday.

The Broncos defeated No. 4 Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin 5-4 in overtime and they lost to No. 6 Old Town/Orono 4-2 on Friday. In addition to their game against Waterville, they face Windham/Westbrook on Saturday.

Old/Town/Orono travels to Camden Hills on Wednesday before hosting Winslow on Saturday.

After losing to Hampden, Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin defeated Lawrence/Skowhegan 7-2 on Saturday. They travel to Messalonske on Monday, host Brewer on Wednesday and host John Bapst on Saturday.

No. 2 York had the week off but has two tough tests this week they travel up to No. 9 Gardiner on Thursday to take on the Tigers and travel to Class A Biddeford on Saturday to take on the Tigers.

No. 3 Kennebunk took care of Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard, 7-3, on Tuesday while picking up a 10-0 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop on Friday. They host Cape Elizabeth on Friday.

No. 5 Yarmouth picked up a big victory over the No. 8 Gorham Rams on Tuesday. They host Gardiner on Monday and travel up to Camden Hills on Saturday. Gorham has a couple of Class A teams this week as they face Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse on Wednesday and face Scarborough on Saturday.

Gardiner also has two big games against York and Yarmouth.

No. 10 Greely faces Class A competition this week they face rival Falmouth on Monday and meet Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse on Saturday.
