Maine Class B Poll: No. 1 Waterville remains solidly in place

The Waterville Purple Panthers continue to be the No. 1 team in Class B with their 9-1 win on Monday against Hampden Academy. This week they meet old rival Lewiston in Lewiston on Wednesday. Saturday they host Houlton/Hodgdon/-Southern Aroostook/Katahdin

No. 2 Yarmouth picked up a 4-0 win over Gorham on Monday and defeated York, 4-3, on Saturday. They have Leavitt in their lone game of the week on Monday.

No. 3 Gardiner started the week with a 3-3 tie on Monday to Leavitt and defeated Marshwood/Traip/Sanford Saturday night 6-0. They host Leavitt in the rematch Thursday before traveling to Dover, N.H. to face York Saturday.

NNE-Festival-Ad-300x250No. 4 Camden Hills defeated South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete 9-0 in its lone game of the week. They return to action Saturday against Cape Elizabeth.

The No. 5 John Bapst Crusaders defeated Old Town/Orono 5-2 on Monday in their lone game of the week. They have Brewer on Wednesday and Hampden on Saturday.

No. 6 Messalonskee lost to Brewer on Monday and defeated Old Town/Orono 10-4 on Saturday where Jared Cunningham became the school’s all-time leading scorer. They have Bangor on Wednesday and Greely on Saturday.

No. 7 Winslow returned to action after a two-week layoff with a 12-3 win over Houlton/Hodgdon/Southern Aroostook/Katahdin on Saturday. They have Hampden Wednesday in their lone game of the week.

No. 8 Brunswick continued its strong play as they defeated York 6-5 on Monday. They host the Kennebunk Rams on Saturday.

No. 9 York will try to get back on the winning track on Wednesday in their game against Gorham and Saturday against Gardiner. This week they fell to Brunswick and Yarmouth.

No. 10 Brewer enters the top ten with their 5-3 win over Messalonskee on Monday and 4-1 win over Presque Isle on Friday. They host John Bapst on Wednesday and travel to Presque Isle on Saturday.
