It was just a matter of time before the Greely Rangers finally got things together.

With a 4-4 tie on Monday against Biddeford and a 7-2 victory over previously undefeated Camden Hills on Wednesday Greely is now sitting on the top of the Western Class B standings. To keep that positioning they will have to fight off Kennebunk and York this Thursday and Saturday.

Camden Hills’ schedule doesn’t get easier with undefeated Eastern B leader Messalonskee on Wednesday and Gorham on Saturday.

Gorham, the third-place team in the Maine Principal Association’s Western Class B standings, beat Leavitt 5-1 on Tuesday and earned a 3-1 victory over the Kennebunk Rams Saturday night.

In the East, Messalonskee is sitting on top of the standings at 11-0-0 after their 9-0 win over the Brewer Witches on Wednesday. In addition to their game against Camden Hills on Wednesday they have a game against Hampden Academy on Monday and a game against Winslow on Saturday.

Waterville is sitting in second place in the East. It had  a 4-2 win over Hampden Academy on Thursday before dropping a 4-3 overtime decision to Presque Isle on Saturday. They have home games against John Bapst and Old Town/Orono this week.

Presque Isle is right behind Waterville as they beat Old Town/Orono Friday night in their only other game of the week. They have key games against Brewer and Hampden this week.

Yarmouth and Kennebunk are sitting fourth and fifth  out West. Yarmouth defeated Maranacook/Winthrop on Tuesday before dropping a 6-2 decision to Class A opponent Falmouth. This week they have Gorham,  Westbrook and Cape Elizabeth. Kennebunk dropped both games this week as Cape Elizabeth beat them 4-1 and they lost to Gorham on Saturday.

Cape Elizabeth and Maranacook/Winthrop are holding the final two playoff spots in the West with Leavitt sitting in eighth one spot out of postseason play.

After Messalonskee, Waterville and Presque Isle in Eastern B, things tighten up with Winslow, Hampden Academy and John Bapst holding the final three playoff spots. Brewer is on the outside looking in sitting in seventh place.
