Tyler McCannell nearly recorded a point on every Black Bear goal in the 6-2 victory over Presque Isle as he had four goals and an assist to power Old Town/Orono.
It’s the third straight Class B North title for the Black Bears and they will meet the Greely Rangers for the Class B state championship Saturday. It will be the third straight season these two teams will meet for the Maine Class B title. The Black Bears won the state championship in 2018 and the Rangers returned the favor last season.
After Gage Letourneau tied the game up a two for the Wildcats it was Tanner Evans who picked up the eventual game-winning goal for the Black Bears shortly thereafter.
Peyton Vose had an assist on Evans goal.
McCannell added his third and fourth goals to give the Black Bears a 5-2 lead. Dylan Street had the initial shot on McCannell’s last goal.
Evans capped the scoring off with his second of the contest with McCannell notching his lone helper.
McCannell opened the scoring and scored in the second period to break a 1-1 deadlock.
Colby Carlisle scored in the first period for the Wildcats.
