Maine Class A Top 10: #1 Lewiston, #2 Bangor Meet Wednesday In Battle Of Unbeatens

The No. 1 Lewiston Blue Devils continue to roll as they defeated Falmouth, 5-0,  while beating Portland/Deering, 4-0,  and Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde, 5-2, on Saturday. They have a showdown against Bangor on Wednesday. No. 2 Bangor will be coming off a 10-day layoff as their lone game of the week versus Orono/Old Town was postponed on Wednesday. After facing Lewiston they host Cheverus on Friday.

No. 3 St. Dom’s went down to Connecticut this past weekend for the Notre Dame tournament. They return to regular season action on Wednesday with a contest against Edward Little and travel up to Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth on Saturday.

Biddeford had a nice bounce-back week to jump up to No. 4 with a 3-2 win over Falmouth on Thursday and a 5-0 win over Kennebunk/Wells on Saturday. They host Portland/Deering on Tuesday and Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard on Friday.

No. 5 Scarborough had their game against Gorham postponed on Wednesday and they skated to a 2-2 tie with Yarmouth on Saturday. They aren’t schedule to return to action until Jan. 21.

No. 6 Portland/Deering’s lone contest of the week was against Lewiston. In addition to their game against Biddeford, they host Falmouth on Saturday.

No. 7 Edward Little defeated Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth 9-0 on Saturday and their only game of this week is against St. Dom’s on Wednesday.

No. 8 South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete defeated Windham/Westbrook 8-2-0 on Saturday. They face Cape Elizabeth Thursday and Thornton Academy on Saturday.

No. 9 Thornton Academy had their game against Lake Region/Fryeburg/Oxford Hills postponed on Wednesday. Before facing South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete on Saturday they face Falmouth on Tuesday.

No. 10 Mt. Ararat/Lisbon/Morse/Hyde defeated Marshwood/Traip/Sanford/Noble 5-4 on Thursday before the loss to Lewiston on Saturday. They travel to Brunswick Wednesday and Lawrence/Skowhegan/MCI on Saturday.
