Maine Class A Regional Finals: Lewiston, Falmouth set to meet for state title

North Regional Final

Lewiston 6, Bangor 0

The Lewiston Blue Devils jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first period en route to a 6-0 victory for their second straight Class A North title.

Joe Bisson scored twice in the opening 15 minutes as the Blue Devils out shot the Rams 17-0 in the period. Ryan Bossie also had a goal in the period. Alex Robert also had a pair of goals for Lewiston as he potted the fifth and sixth goals of the night. His first goal of the night came under two minutes left to play in the second period. His second goal came with 4:48 remaining in the game.

Jean-Luc Dostie scored in the second period for the Blue Devils.

Jacob Strout turned aside all ten shots he faced while Derek Fournier made 35 saves in the losing effort for the Rams.

South Regional Final

Falmouth 3, Cheverus 2

The Falmouth Yachtsmen scored twice in the third period as they came back to beat the Cheverus Stags 3-2 to capture their first regional title in three years.

Before the third period started, Garrett Tracey got the Yachtsmen on the board in the final minutes of the second period. They carried the momentum into the final stanza when Theo Hembre shot trickled past Jason Halverson 41 seconds into the period.

Reece Armitage scored the game winner with nine minutes remaining in the third.

Cheverus jumped out to a 2-0 lead as Sean Walsh had a goal and an assist while Kieran Conley opened the scoring in the first period.

Spencer Pierce made 15 saves for the win while Halverson made 33 saves.
