With the top teams in Class A holding steady for the most part this week, the middle tier is jam packed.


No. 7 Brunswick and No. 4 Cheverus met Saturday night and the game ended a 2-2 draw. Cheverus had a clash with No. 1 Scarborough which was postponed on Monday. Brunswick defeated rival Mt. Ararat/Lisbon 7-1 on Wedneday.


No. 10 Edward Little picked up a 5-4 win over Yarmouth on Wednesday and defeated Westbrook 10-0 on Saturday night.


It was a tough week for Cony High School dropping a 3-2 decision to Lawrence/Skowhegan and a 8-1 defeat to No. 5 St. Dom’s Saturday night.


No. 8 Thornton Academy lost to 5-2 to Lewiston this week and will face Greely and St. Dom’s in the next seven days.


Their arch rival Biddeford picked up a 4-2 victory over Kennebunk on Thursday. They have a match up with St. Dom’s on Wednesday.


After a strong start No. 9 Noble/Wells  lost 3-0 to Cape Elizabeth on Thursday and defeated the Massabesic/Old Orchard Sea Stangs 9-1 on Saturday. They face Bonny Eagle and Westbrook in the upcoming week.


At the top, Scarborough shutout Cape Elizabeth 3-0. No. 6 Falmouth lost 3-1 to No. 2 Lewiston on Wednesday in the marquee game of the week. They responded with a 7-1 win on Saturday. They have an out of state tournament coming up and won’t return to regular season action until Jan. 29 with a date with St. Dom’s.


No. 3 Bangor had the week off and will travel to Lewiston Wednesday to the Androscoggin Bank Colisee to face Lewiston High School.


In addition to defeating Cony/Monmouth, St. Dom’s earned a 3-3 tie with Greely this week.
