No. 1 Lewiston remains the top team in Class A after splitting two battles with No. 2 Falmouth over the past week. The Yachtsmen won the first game in come from behind fashion on Monday with a 3-2 victory. Lewiston returned the favor with a 5-4 victory Saturday down in Falmouth.
The Blue Devils routed No. 10 Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester, 11-0, on Wednesday. The Yachtsmen meanwhile dropped a 2-1 decision to No. 3 St. Dom’s on Wednesday. The Saints and Falmouth meet again on Tuesday. Falmouth hosts Bangor on Saturday. The Blue Devils have No. 5 Scarborough on Wednesday and face Edward Little on Saturday.
The Saints continued their momentum with their win over Falmouth with a 3-2 victory over Scarborough Saturday. In addition to their rematch with Falmouth on Tuesday they host Cape Elizabeth on Wednesday.
No. 4 Biddeford had a pair of 5-0 victories this week coming against Thornton Academy and EL on Saturday. They have South Portland/Freeport/Waynflete on Saturday.
No. 6 Portland/Deering lost two games to Class B opponents this week. On Monday, the York Wildcats doubled them up 6-3 while Yarmouth clipped them 4-3 on Thursday. They have rival Cheverus on Thursday and Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard on Saturday.
No. 7 Cheverus had Gorham on Saturday and they won 3-0 They have have Yarmouth on Tuesday and Cape Elizabeth in addition to their game against the Bulldogs.
No. 8 Bangor defeated No. 9 Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth, 3-1, on Monday and defeated Gardiner, 5-1, on Saturday. In addition to their game against Falmouth on Saturday, they have Edward Little on Wednesday.
Cony/Hall-Dale/Monmouth bounced back with a 5-1 victory over Maranacook/Winthrop on Friday night. They have a pair of games against Class B competition. On Tuesday, they have Gardiner and Messalonskee on Thursday before facing the Kings in a key Class A North game on Saturday.
Poland/Leavitt/Oak Hill/Gray-New Gloucester defeated Noble/Wells, 5-2, on Monday and Marshwood/Traip/Sanford, 8-4, on Saturday with the loss to Lewiston in between
