There’s a new No. 1 in the HNIB Maine Class A Poll as Cheverus has taken the top spot with a 10-2 win over Marshwood/Traip/Sanford, the 100th for coach Dan Lucas. The Stags defeated Massabesic/Bonny Eagle/Old Orchard 5-0 on Saturday.
Cheverus has a pair of games with Falmouth this week as they travel to Falmouth on Tuesday and host the Yachtsmen on Thursday. They travel down to Biddeford on Saturday.
No. 2 Lewiston drops as they started the week with a 9-0 win over Gardiner before falling 4-1 to Falmouth on Saturday. They host Thornton Academy on Wednesday and travel up to Bangor on Friday.
No. 3 Falmouth started the week with a 4-2 ,loss to York on Monday while before bouncing back against against the Blue Devils on Saturday. They cap their regular season this week with the two games against the Stags and face St. Dom’s at home in the regular season finale at home.
No. 4 Biddeford slips after splitting games – a 4-0 win with Scarborough and a 6-2 loss to Greely Saturday. They wait for Cheverus next Saturday as their lone game of the week.
No. 5 Bangor bounces up after a 3-0 win over Gardiner a 3-2 win over Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale on Saturday. They host Portland/Deering on Tuesday before welcoming Lewiston Friday.
No. 6 Edward Little slides up with a 3-2 victory over St. Dom’s in overtime on Wednesday. This week they have Yarmouth on Wednesday and Cony/Monmouth/Hall-Dale on Saturday as both games are at home.
No. 7 Poland/Gray New-Gloucester/Oak Hill/Leavitt moves after a 6-0 win over Maranacook/Winthrop/Madison on Wednesday before dropping a 3-2 decision to Gorham on Saturday. They host Lawrence/Skowhegan/MCI on Wednesday.
No. 9 Thornton Academy reenters the poll with a 3-0 win over South Portland/Waynflete/Freeport on Saturday. They travel to Lewiston on Wednesday and host Scarborough on Saturday this week.
No. 10 Portland/Deering is back in with a 4-2 win over Windham/Westbrook on Thursday. They travel up to Bangor on Tuesday and host St. Dom’s on Thursday.
