Girls Prep Top 15
There are no newcomers in this week’s HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15, and a bit of movement, but none in the top five.
#1 Nobles (22-0-0) rolls along, defeating St. George’s (4-2) and Brooks (10-1) this week. Looking ahead, the Bulldawgs face Groton (Wednesday), then a challenging weekend with #8 BB&N (Friday) and #9 Westminster (Saturday).
#2 Kent (11-3-1) had a rare off week. The Lions swing back into action Wednesday against Canterbury, and get Millbrook on Saturday.
#3 Tabor (17-1-0) is back in full force. After outlasting #6 Phillips Andover 3-2 in OT, the Seawolves downed Lawrence Academy (5-1) and St. Mark’s (7-1) over the weekend. In between games with Middlesex (Wednesday) and Governors Academy (Saturday), Tabor has a big one Friday with #5 St. Paul’s.
#4 Williston (13-4-1) beat Taft (6-2) in its only action. The Wildcats take on Choate Wednesday then a tough one with Andover Saturday.
St. Paul’s (12-4-0) was also idle this week, a Friday game with New Hampton postponed until this Wednesday. Also on the docket is Pomfret on Saturday.
Andover (12-6-0) is up to #6 after its strong contest with Tabor and a win over New Hampton (2-1). The Big Blue gets Milton Academy Wednesday before Williston.
#7 Loomis Chaffee (12-5-1) blanked Gunnery (4-0). The Pelicans have back-to-back dates with Cushing (Friday) and Choate (Saturday).
#9 Westminster (13-5-1) downed Pomfret 7-1. Deerfield provides the opposition on Wednesday.
#10 Rivers (11-5-0) beat Berwick (4-1) and had a game with St. George’s postponed. This week, the Red Wings will see Groton (Monday), #13 Worcester Academy (14-6-1) Wednesday and #15 St. Mark’s (10-8-).
Also in this week’s rankings are #11 Vermont Academy (12-4-0), #12 New Hampton (12-8-0) and #14 Brooks (11-4-1).
