Girls Prep Top 15
A couple of key outcomes amongst the top clubs shuffles this week’s HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15 poll.
No change at the very top, though, as #1 Nobles improves to 17-0-0 after beating Winchendon (6-2) and Exeter (3-0). The ‘Dawgs have a three-game homestand this week, hosting Lawrence Academy (Wednesday), Cushing (Friday) and St. Paul’s (Saturday).
Defending champ Kent (9-3-1) moves up to #2. The Lions downed Pomfret Wednesday, and then knocked off #4 Williston Saturday by a 3-2 count. Kent faces Choate Wednesday.
#3 Tabor (11-1-0) suffered its first setback with a 3-2 loss to #5 Loomis Chaffee Saturday. Looking ahead, the Seawolves are at Milton Academy (Wednesday) and then host Hill School (Friday) and #10 Westminster (Saturday).
Williston (11-4-0) did have a 3-2 win over Dexter Southfield prior to falling to Kent. They are at Westminster (Wednesday) and Hotchkiss (Saturday).
Loomis Chaffee (10-4-1) also knocked off Westminster and Taft, by the same 3-2 score and has won three in a row. The Pelicans take on BB&N (Wednesday) and Greenwich Academy (Friday).
#6 St. Paul’s (11-3-0) needed overtime to down #11 Vermont Academy (4-3) on Saturday. They take on Northfield Wednesday before the showdown with top-ranked Nobles.
Rivers (9-3-0) has a busy week with Thayer (Wednesday), Exeter (Friday) and Milton Academy (Saturday).
#9 Andover (9-4-0) had 4-1 wins over Lawrence Academy and St. Mark’s. The Big Blue also has Cushing (Wednesday) and Deerfield (Saturday) this week.
#10 Westminster (12-4-0) is primed to make a big move this week with games against ranked opponents Williston (Wednesday) and Tabor (Saturday).
The rest of this week’s Top 15 has Vermont Academy (9-3-0) at #11, Worcester Academy (12-4-1) at #12, Brooks (8-3-1) at #13, New Hampton (8-6-0) at #14 and Exeter (9-6-0) at #15.
