Pre-season #1 Nobles (9-0-0) has shown why they were tagged with that distinction in the early going of the 2019-2020 Girls Prep season. The ‘Dawgs have run off nine straight wins to start the season, culminating in Sunday’s 3-1 win over Williston to win the Harrington Tournament.

Nobles has allowed just six goals all season. Next up after the holiday break is a January 8 date with Dexter Southfield.

The only other unbeaten team is #2 Tabor (8-0-0). The Seawolves have been equally as impressive, outscoring opponents to a 39-4 margin so far. They just wrapped up a title at the Patsy Odden Tournament, blanking Kent in the final, 2-0. Tabor is off until January 11, when they have a huge tilt with #3 Williston (5-2-0).

The Wildcats battled hard in that 3-1 loss to Nobles in the Harrington Tournament championship game.  They also avenged their only other loss, beating St. Paul’s 3-1. Williston will be at Winchendon’s tournament the first weekend in January.

#4 Kent (4-2-1) has not fired on all cylinders just yet, but wait. The Lions were upended early on by Westminster, and fell to Tabor in the Patsy Odden title game. They did take down #5 Loomis Chaffee at that tournament and return to action January 8 at Taft.

The Pelicans (5-3-0) also fell to Westminster, and had an early-season loss to Nobles. They did run off wins at the Odden Tournament over Hotchkiss (1-0), Andover (2-0) and Lawrenceville (4-1).

Jumping up to #6 is BB&N (7-1-0). The Knights went 3-1 at the Harrington Tournament, including wins over #7 St. Paul’s 6-4 and Westminster, 1-0. Their only loss of the season was a 3-0 verdict to Williston. After a couple of scrimmages against NAHA and Stanstead College in early January, BB&N plays January 10 at Berkshire.

Dexter Southfield Tournament champion Rivers (6-1-0) moves up to #8, while Watkins Tournament winner Berkshire (4-3-1) is in this week at #13.
