Girls Prep Playoff Recap: Williston stuns Kent, 2-1


#1 Nobles 2, #8 BB&N 1

The top-seeded Bulldawgs needed a late third period goal from Courtney Hyland to pull out the 2-1 win. Maddie Bayard also had a goal for Nobles.

#7 Williston 2, #2 Kent 1

In the biggest surprise of playoff day, Williston went on the road and ousted the Lions, who lost just once all season. Junior Katelyn Holmes had both goals for the Wildcats, who got a 32-save performance in goal from Dani Marquez. Haley Uliasz scored for Kent.

Kelly Browne

#3 Tabor 6, #6 Taft 1

The Seawolves continued their torrid play, using a hat trick from Kelly Browne and two goals from Ashley Clark to roll to a big win. Olivia Finocchairo also scored, and Julia Shaughnessy and Jillian Fey registered a pair of assists each.

#4 Loomis 5, #5 St. Paul’s 0

Junior Jenna Donohue had the hat trick to power Loomis Chaffee in this one.  Bree Bergeron and Georgia Kraus also had goals in the win.


Leslie Schwartz

#1 Rivers 3, #8 Canterbury 2

Camille Phelan scored two goals for the Red Wings, and defenseman Lexi Schwartz had the game-winner in the third period. Meaghan Francis had both goals for Canterbury.

#2 Vermont Academy 5, #7 Kimball Union 2

Lotti Odnoga scored two goals and Chloe Aurard, Kristyna Kaltounkova (three assists) and Klara Jandusikova each scored once in this battle of Wildcats. Blanka Skodova made 21 saves for Vermont.

#6 St. George’s 2, #3 Brooks 1

Maddie Tregenza and Payton Mulhern had the goals for the Dragons, who handed Brooks its first loss against a D2 opponent all season. Quin Healy had the goal for Brooks.

#4 Worcester Academy 2, #5 Gunnery 0

The defending D2 champs got goals from Micaela Sindoris and Ciara Wall in the first three minutes of the game and held on from there. Megan Miranda had 22 saves for the Hilltoppers, while Gunnery goalie Katie Broccoli stopped 30 shots.
