For the first time all season, by the slimmest of margins, there is a new #1 in the HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15.

That goes to Williston (16-1-0). The Wildcats prevailed 4-1 Saturday in their crucial matchup with #5 Andover (11-2-4) and also beat Choate (5-1). They have Northfield (Wednesday) and Loomis Chaffee (Saturday).

#2 Nobles (18-0-3), who is the only team to beat Williston, back in December, got past Groton (2-0) and Hill School (1-0), sandwiched around a 2-2 tie with BB&N. A big week looms for the ‘Dawgs with Andover on Wednesday, Thayer (Friday) and a huge matchup with Tabor (Saturday).

It is now seven straight wins for #3 Tabor (12-3-3) after the Seawolves beat Middlesex (6-1), St. Paul’s (1-0) and Governor’s (4-3). Prior to Nobles, Tabor sees BB&N Wednesday in what should be a tough game.

#4 Cushing (14-5-2) went 3-0-1 in a busy week, knocking off Loomis Chaffee 3-1 in the process. The Penguins were tied by Lawrence Academy (3-3). They get ranked opponents Deerfield (Wednesday) and Dexter Southfield (Friday) and also face Pomfret (Saturday).

Andover stays put at #5. The Big Blue did beat Milton Academy, and host Worcester Academy Saturday.

#6 St. Paul’s (11-5-1) did have wins over New Hampton (3-1) and Pomfret (5-2) around that loss to Tabor. Exeter (Wednesday), Tilton (Friday) and Winchendon (Saturday) are up this week.

#7 Loomis Chaffee (11-3-4) got past Choate (2-1) on Saturday. The Pelicans get Pomfet Wednesday before Williston.

#8 Dexter Southfield (12-2-2) did not allow a goal this week in a tie with Winchendoon (0-0) and win over Proctor (2-0). They host New Hampton Wednesday before tackling Cushing.

#9 Kent (9-5-2) had a productive week with wins over Canterbury, Hoosac and Millbrook, scoring 19 goals in the process. The Lions are at Hotchkiss Wednesday.

#10 Vermont Academy (14-2-1) downed Tilton and Hoosac. The Wildcats look ahead to a busy week with Holderness (Monday), Frederick Gunn (Wednesday), KUA (Friday) and Portsmouth Abbey (Saturday).

Rounding out this week’s rankings are #11 Deerfield (8-2-4), #12 Choate (9-7-3), #13 BB&N (8-8-2), #14 New Hampton (11-8-2) and #15 Brooks (11-7-2).
