Girls Prep Hockey Top 15: Williston Cools Off Kent; St. Paul’s Makes Big Move

Two games and two more wins each for both Williston and Andover as they continue to headline the latest HNIB Girls Prep Top 15 this week.

#1 Williston (15-0-0) held off Dexter Southfield 1-0 earlier in the week and then in Saturday showdown with then #3 Kent (11-3-0), the Wildcats took a convincing 5-1 win. They will face Westminster (Wednesday) and Hotchkiss (Saturday).

#2 Andover (13-0-0) kept pace rolling past Lawrence Academy (6-0) and St. Mark’s (7-3). The Big blue host #8 Cushing on Wednesday, and then will see BB&N (Friday) and Deerfield (Saturday) this weekend.

Nobles (13-3-1) moves up to #3 after a week that saw the ‘Dawgs takes wins over Winchendon (5-1) and Exeter (2-0). An ISL league games vs. Lawrence Academy is up for Wednesday, then a battle Saturday with hot #7 St. Paul’s (10-7-0) on Saturday.

Kent got cooled off a bit with the loss to Williston, but expect the Lions to get right back at it when they face Choate (Wednesday) and Taft (Saturday).

Tabor (9-3-1) stays put after #5. The Seawolves beat Thayer (6-1) and then tied with #11 Loomis Chaffee (2-2). A key contest will be Wednesday’s matchup with #6 Milton Academy (9-3-1). Tabor also will see Westminster on Saturday.

The Mustangs jumped up two spots thanks to wins over Governor’s Academy and Austin Prep. After the Tabor game, Milton will battle Rivers.

St. Paul’s was impressive in beating Cushing (6-1), Kimball Union (7-1) and Vermont Academy (3-1). Prior to Nobles, St. Paul’s is scheduled to face Northfield.

Cushing beat Berkshire 4-1 on Sunday, and also had a 7-0 win over Middlesex on Saturday. The Penguins look to hand Andover its first loss, and then travel to BB&N on Saturday.

A three-win week sees New Hampton (11-4-0) at #9 this week. The Huskies downed Holderness, Deerfield and Worcester Academy and hope to continue their success this week at Winchendon (Wednesday), at Vermont Academy (Friday) and St. Mark’s (Saturday).

#10 Dexter Southfield (9-4-2) also had a 2-2 tie with Thayer. A date with NAHA is on tap for Wednesday and DS will see new #15 Brooks on Saturday.

Keep An Eye On: Taft, Austin Prep, Millbrook
