Hard to believe we are entering the final three weeks of the regular season. Many teams are looking ahead to a possible tournament spot, including the top clubs hoping for an Elite Tournament bid.

There was a little movement in this week’s HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15, including two newcomers at the bottom.

#1 Nobles (16-0-2) had a scare Saturday, hanging on for a 4-3 win over Brooks after the Bishops scored three third period goals. The ‘Dawgs also blanked St. George’s. Next up: Groton (Wednesday), BB&N (Friday), The Hill School (Saturday).

#2 Williston (14-1-0) also had a battle, earning a one-goal win over Taft (2-1) in its only game. Next up: Choate (Wednesday), Andover (Saturday).

Cushing (11-5-1) is up a spot to #3 this week. The Penguins knocked off New Hampton. Next up: Rivers (Monday), Lawrence Academy (Wednesday), Loomis Chaffee (Friday), Northfield (Saturday).

#4 St. Paul’s (9-4-1) beat New Hampton Friday in its first game in 13 days. Next up: New Hampton (Wednesday), Tabor (Friday), Pomfret (Saturday).

#5 Andover (10-1-4) had a heart-breaking loss to Tabor, its first setback of the season, but rebounded and beat New Hampton. Next up: Milton Academy (Friday), Williston (Saturday).

A pair of 4-0 shutout wins (Hotchkiss, Gunn School) highlighted the week for #6 Loomis Chaffee (10-2-4). Next up: Cushing (Friday), Choate (Saturday).

#7 Tabor (9-3-3) followed up the big win over Andover and with a 4-0 decision of St. Mark’s. The Seawolves may be playing their best hockey of the season. Next up: Middlesex (Wednesday), St. Paul’s (Friday), Governor’s Academy (Saturday).

Dexter Southfield (11-2-1) remains firm at #8. A 3-0 shutout of Exeter was its only game this past week. Next up: Winchendon (Wednesday), Proctor (Friday).

#9 Kent (6-5-2) was idle this week. Next up: Canterbury (Wednesday), Hoosac (Friday), Millbrook (Saturday).

Moving into the Top 10 this week is #10 Vermont Academy (12-2-1) after a week that included wins over Winchendon, Proctor and Exeter. Next up: Tilton (Wednesday), Hoosac (Saturday).

Rounding out this week’s rankings are #11 Deerfield (5-2-4), #12 Choate (8-5-3), #13 New Hampton (8-7-2), and newcomers #14 BB&N (7-8-1) and #15 Brooks (9-7-2).
