Catapulted by an impressive sweep to the Harrington Tournament championship, Nobles (7-0-1) has moved into the #1 spot in our first in-season HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15.

The ‘Dawgs beat St. Paul’s in the title game and outscored four opponents by a 17-2 margin. They come back from break on January 3 at Dexter Southfield.

Pre-season #1 and two-time defending Elite 8 champion Williston got beat by St. Paul’s, and tied by Westminster at the Harrington Tournament, so fall to #2 this week. The Wildcats host a good Groton team on January 2.

#3 Kent (4-0-2) is still unbeaten. The Lions did have a pair of ties this past weekend at the Patsy Odden Tournament with Tabor and Andover. Their first game back? A trip to Nobles on January 6.

A Patsy Odden Tournament title, which included a win over Andover, has Loomis Chaffee (5-3-0) at #4. Winners of four straight, the Pelicans get Berkshire next (January 6).

#5 Phillips Andover (3-1-1) drops a bit but will be ready to start a run on January 6 when they host Choate.

Both #6 St. Paul’s (6-3-0) and #7 Tabor (6-1-1) are up a rung. Two of St Paul’s losses are to Nobles and Williston. #8 Deerfield (6-1-1) is up next on January 6. The Seawolves, whose only loss is to Andover, host Williston on January 6.

Deerfield moves into the rankings this week at #8 after a strong start to the season that includes a win over Loomis Chaffee.

#9 Westminster (5-2-1) jumps up to #9. The Martlets return from break to face Taft on January 6.

Watkins Tournament champions Millbrook (6-3-0) stands at #10. The Mustangs look ahead to Kimball Union (January 6) and Tilton (January 7).

Rounding out these latest rankings at #11 Groton (5-2-1), #12 New Hampton (5-2-2), #13 Thayer (6-2-1), #14 Taft (4-3-0) and #14 Choate (5-3-0).
