Coming down the home stretch of the 2023-2024 season and the teams are all jostling for position, trying to nail down a spot in the Elite 8 Tournament.

Despite a couple of recent ties, Nobles (20-0-3) keeps firm grip on the #1 spot in this latest HNIB News Girls Prep Top 15. The ‘Dawgs knocked off a good Hill School team in a non-league battle over the weekend after a pair of 1-1 deadlocks with Groton and BB&N. Nobles readies for a showdown with red-hot now #2 Phllips Andover (15-3-1) on Wednesday.

Andover is now in the #2 spot thanks to a 1-0 win Saturday over two-time defending Elite 8 champion Williston. The Big Blue also had wins over Austin Prep and Milton Academy this week. Worcester Academy is Saturday’s opponent.

Prior to falling to Andover, #3 Williston (16-2-1) had a solid win over Choate. The Wildcats host Worcester Academy on Wednesday, then have another huge tilt on Saturday with #4 Loomis Chaffee (16-4-1).

Loomis got upended by Choate On Saturday, 2-1, and looks to rebound Wednesday against Lawrenceville.

Kent (9-3-2) moves into the #5 spot after picking up wins over Canterbury and Millbrook. The Lions face Hotchkiss on Wednesday.

A big mover is #6 Tabor (12-5-3). The Seawolves picked up wins over Middlesex (6-1), St. Paul’s (2-0) and Governor’s Academy (6-1). They also have a big week with BB*N (Wednesday) and Nobles (Saturday).

#7 Deerfield (15-3-2) had a tie with Westminster, and beat Berkshire Saturday (3-1). The Big Green looks ahead to Cushing Wednesday and Hotchkiss Saturday.

#8 Choate (14-6-0) rebounded from that loss to Williston with the big win over Loomis Chaffee. Berkshire (Wednesday) and Taft (Saturday) are on this week’s slate.

#9 St. Paul’s (13-7-2) had a tough loss to Tabor but looks to pick it up with a three-game week, including a pair of games with Phillips Exeter.

Groton (13-5-2) jumps into the top ten in this latest ranking, coming off the tie with Nobles. The Zebras have Brooks (Wednesday) and St. George’s (Saturday) on the docket.
