The number of undefeated teams in Girls Prep School hockey is now one, after #5 Tabor made the trek to Phillips Andover and left with a solid 5-3 victory over the #2 Big Blue, who lost for the first time this winter after starting 16-0-0.
After the teams skated to a 1-1 tie after the first period, the Seawolves expoded for four second period goals to gain control.
“That was a good win for us. We have played a tough schedule to date so I think it prepared us to play against a really good Andover team that kept playing hard.,” said Tabor coach Eric Long. “Our team has come together nicely over the last 2+ months and feel we can compete with everyone. We’ve had a few injuries this year that have allowed some of our younger players to develop, but we are back at full strength and playing our best hockey of the season.”

Senior Juliette Piersol broke the 1-1 tie in the second period with back-to-back goals. Before the period would end, Julianna Goffredo and Lizzy Greeley would also score, giving Tabor a 5-2 lead after two periods.
Kaitlin Sullivan scored in the first period.
The keys for us are to play our game,” Long said. “We play with pace with the puck and tenacity without the puck which puts teams on their heels. That approached worked again today against a really talented defensive unit and strong overall team.”
Andover got goals from Keira Harder, Julia Simon and Molly Boyle.
