Gary Demopoulos has been covering prep school hockey for the HNIB News for over 30 years, and has been the editor of the HNIB News since 2005. A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Gary also helps organize and oversee HNIB's many summer tournaments and festivals for scholastic players.

The Girls Prep hockey New England championship games will be held this year on Sunday, March 8th at the Jackman L. Stewart Athletic Center on the campus of Berkshire School. The center features two ice rinks, one Olympic size and one NHL size.

Berkshire School is located in Sheffield, MA, in the southwest corner of the state near both the Connecticut and New York borders.

Here are the scheduled times:

Division II Final: 12:30pm

Division I Final: 3:oo pm

As in the past, eight teams will qualify for both the Division I and Division II tournaments. Quarterfinal games will be held at the home rink of the higher seed on Wednesday, March 4th. Likewise, semifinal games in each division will be played on Saturday, March 7th. A neutral site will be used if the driving distance is too prohibitive in either round.

Defending champions are Westminster School (Division 1) and Gunnery (Division 2).
