Girls Prep Highlights

Shayna Tomlinson had the hat trick, and Bridget Carey and Caitrin Lonergan each scored once as St. Paul’s cooled off Middlesex, 5-2.  They also each had a goal, along with Miriam Eickoff and Brooke Avery, as #2 St. Paul’s got past #3 Tabor by the same 5-2 score.

Emma Hannan had a goal and an assist, and Ashley Dineen and Emily Martin also had goals as Canterbury upset Division I foe Kent, 3-1.


– Goals by Kelcie Finn and Erin Ozturk powered Westminster to a 2-0 shutout win over Loomis Chaffee.


– A second period goal from Taylor Methven enabled Proctor to earn a 1-1 tie with Southfield.

– In a battle of top ten clubs, Tabor outlasted Pomfret, 4-3. Lily Connolly scored a pair of goals, while Sarah Schwenzfeier and Sammy Davis each had one goal. For Pomfret, Makenna Newkirk scored all three goals.

Maddy Jerolman had the game’s only goal, and Sydney Belinskas was solid in goal as Williston picked up a key 1-0 win over Choate in another battle between two top ten clubs. It was Williston’s first win over Choate in 24 years.


Maddie Evangelous had a huge game, scoring three goals and assisting on four more as Worcester Academy blanked Vermont Academy, 7-0.  Jen Manning added a pair of goals and Julia Pelletier picked up the shutout in goal.

Gary Demopoulos has been covering prep school hockey for the HNIB News for over 30 years, and has been the editor of the HNIB News since 2005. A former sportswriter and news editor at the Woburn (MA) Daily Times Chronicle, he has been the HNIB News' key reporter for Mens Prep School hockey since 1988, as well as womens hockey, both at the prep school and high school levels. for almost 20 years. Gary also helps organize and oversee HNIB's many summer tournaments and festivals for scholastic players.
