Girls Prep Highlights: Westminster Ties Up Deerfield; Rivers Staves Off Worcester Academy

Haley Sundstrom

* Westminster and Deerfield ended up in a 2-2 tie. Megan Rittenhouse and Jenny Guider had goals for Westy, while Mae Emerson and Haley Sundstrom countered for the Big Green.

* D2 #1 Brooks continues to win the tough games as the Bishops held off Holderness 1-0. Caroline O’Keefe had the lone goal for Brooks.

* Vermont Academy got past Tilton, 3-2, with two goals from Kristyna Kaltounkova and one from Danielle McCarthy.

Lydia Anderson
Phillips Exeter

* Sisters Lilli Welcke and Luisa Welcke each had two goals to power Kent to a 7-1 win over Canterbury. Kiersten Goode, Megan Woodworth and Julia Nearis all had a goal as well.

* Exeter salvaged a 2-2 tie with Kimball Union with a late goal. Jenna Brooks and Alyssa Xu each had a goal and Lydia Anderson had two assists. Ashley Penney and Abby Flanagan each scored for the Wildcats.

Julianna Gong
St. Mark’s

* Two goals from Julianna Gong powered St. Mark’s to a 4-0 win over Milton Academy. Emma Viens and Bailey Horne also chipped in with a goal.

* In a key Division 2 clash, #2 Rivers edged #4 Worcester Academy 3-2. Kaitlin Shaughnessy kept her red-hot streak going with two more goals, while Rylie Glennon had one.

Alex Johnson

* Winchendon got a goal from Alex Johnson and another shutout from Hope Walinski in a 1-0 win over Dexter Southfield.

* Dominique Biron had the game-winning goal as Cushing got past Lawrence Academy, 3-2.

* Natalie Stott pitched the shutout and Brynn Saarela had the lone goal as D1 #2 Williston nipped Choate, 1-0.
