The top six holds true to form in this latest HNIB News Girls D2 Prep rankings, while teams seven and eight did a flip-flop.

#1 Rivers (11-2-4) went 2-0-1 on the week, beating BB&N (3-1) and Groton (4-1), and then getting tied by Brewster Academy (2-2). A key game with Thayer on Wednesday is the Red Wings only game this week.

#2 Worcester Academy (10-3-0) won a pair of shutouts over Proctor (1-0) and NYA (4-0). The Hilltoppers will be tested by Brooks (Wednesday) and Holderness (Saturday).

#3 Kimball Union (10-3-1) continues to impress after a pair of 5-1 wins over Vermont Academy and Hebron. The Wildcats take on Holderness (Wednesday) and will see Governors Academy (Friday).

#4 Canterbury (8-4-4) tied with Gunnery (2-2) in its only action of this past week. Just one game looms for the coming week, a date with Rye Country Day on Wednesday.

#5 Thayer (10-4-2) fell to D1 power St. Paul’s (5-0) but rebounded with a 4-0 win over Kents Hill. The Tigers look to make a statement Wednesday against Rivers, and also will play Newton Country Day (Tuesday) and Middlesex (Saturday).

#6 Gunnery (5-8-1) also beat Hotchkiss (2-1) and fell to Lawrenceville (4-1). A busy week ahead has Taft (Monday), Berkshire (Wednesday) and Hill (Saturday).

#7 Tilton (9-5-3) jumps a peg. The Rams edged Brooks (3-2) and Albany Academy (3-1), and lost to D1 Northfield (4-0). Another D1 opponent – Exeter – looms on Wednesday, with Governors Academy on Saturday.

Brooks (4-8-2) hangs on to #8, bouncing back with a 2-1 win over Proctor. The Bishops will be at Southfield on Saturday after the Wednesday matchup with Worcester Academy.
