A new #1 team emerges this week in the latest HNIB News Girls D2 prep poll. That title goes to Proctor (18-3-1), An 8-0 win over North Yarmouth Academy was the Hornets 10th straight win, a streak during which they have allowed just six goals. Vermont Academy (Wednesday), Berwick (Friday) and Kimball Union (Saturday) comprise a busy week.

Brooks (11-4-1) jumps to #2, thanks primarily to a 4-1 win over previous #1 Worcester Academy. The Bishops were then tied by Southfield (2-2) on Saturday. They get improved Thayer (Wednesday) before playing D1’s top club – Nobles – on Saturday.

That loss drops Worcester Academy (13-3-3) to #3. The Hilltoppers also had a 1-1 tie with Holderness before blanking Kingswood (6-0). They will need to keep an eye on Southfield (Wednesday) and get Winchendon Saturday.

Girls-Festival-Ad-300x250#4 St. George’s (9-3-1) stays put. The Dragons downed Portsmouth Abbey (9-2) before a big win over D1 St. Mark’s (2-1). They hope to put a scare into Nobles (Wednesday) before playing Kingswood (Saturday).

#5 Canterbury (13-2-2) has just Lawrenceville (Wednesday) on this week’s slate. The Saints beat Rye Country Day (7-1) and Kingswood (5-0) before a 0-0 tie with Hill School.

#6 Rivers (9-4-0) got back to winning ways with a 3-1 decision of Thayer. The Red Wings hope to keep that trend going this week against Tabor (Wednesday) and Milton Academy (Friday).

A win over Governor’s Academy (5-3) and that 2-2 tie with Brooks pushes Southfield (7-7-2) up to #7. A biggie looms with Worcester Academy (Wednesday) with Middlesex providing Saturday’s opposition.

Thayer (9-4-1) makes its debut in the poll at #8. The Tigers lost to Rivers (3-1) and beat Middlesex (2-1). This week, Thayer gets Brooks (Wednesday) and Milton (Saturday).
