Girls Prep D1 Poll
Not much change this week in the HNIB News Girls Prep D1 Top 10.
#1 Kent (13-1-0) won its only game over Greenwich Academy (8-0). The Lions have Canterbury (Wednesday) and Millbrook (Saturday) on this week’s docket.
#2 Nobles (16-2-2) continues to win its low-scoring games, defeating St. George’s (3-1), Winchendon (3-1) and Brooks (1-0). It is three games this week for the ‘Dawgs: Groton (Wednesday), BB&N (Friday) and Westminster (Saturday).
A 2-0 win over Gunnery was #3 Loomis Chaffee‘s (13-3-1) only result. This week, the Pelicans face Hotchkiss (Wednesday) and Choate (Saturday).
#4 St. Paul’s (12-3-3) cranked up its offense in a big way, blasting New Hampton (8-1) and St. Mark’s (10-0). A crucial battle looms Friday with Tabor. The Pelicans have Pomfret on Saturday.
#5 Tabor (14-4-0) had the week it needed to have, posting wins over Andover (2-1), Lawrence Academy (2-1) and St. Mark’s (2-1). The Seawolves look to solidify their playoff standing this week against Middlesex (Wednesday), St. Paul’s (Friday) and Governors Academy (Saturday).
#6 Taft (14-4-0) beat Canterbury (7-1) and Williston (4-1) to keep pace. Greenwich Academy (Wednesday) and Hotchkiss (Saturday) are the opponents this week.
Despite the loss to Tabor, #7 Andover (12-4-0) had wins over Lawrence Academy (2-1) and New Hampton (2-1). The Big Blue are off until a Saturday game with #9 Williston (10-5-2). That will be a huge contest for Williston, who has Choate Wednesday.
Back-to-back losses push New Hampton (17-6-0) down to #8. The Huskies hope to rebound against Northfield (Wednesday), Brewster Academy (Friday) and Exeter (Saturday).
BB&N (11-7-1) re-enters the rankings in the #10 spot. The Knights, who beat Governors (6-1) and Exeter (4-2), take on St. George’s (Wednesday) and Nobles (Friday)
