With both of its games this week cancelled, Kent (14-0-1) will stay in the #1 spot in the latest HNIB News Girls Division I Prep poll.
When the Lions take on Hotchkiss this Wednesday, it will be their first game action in two weeks, so there could be a rust factor. Kingswood Oxford is Saturday’s opponent.
#2 Williston (15-0-3) keeps chugging along, still unbeaten. The Wildcats tied Choate (3-3) and blanked Kimball Union (3-0). Northfield will proved Wednesday’s opponent before Saturday’s big tilt with Loomis Chaffee.
#3 Nobles (19-2-1) keeps on winning and on Saturday defeated Westminster (2-0) in a key battle. Victories also came over Groton (6-1) and [email protected] (2-0). The ‘Dawgs will be busy this week with four games against Lawrence Academy (Tuesday), Phillips Andover (Wednesday), Thayer (Friday) and the big showdown with St. Paul’s on Saturday.
Speaking of St. Paul’s (18-1-1), the Big Red climb to #4 after victories over Middlesex (7-1) and Governors Academy (3-1), and a tough tie with Tabor (4-4). Prior to welcoming Nobles to town, St. Paul’s get Milton (Monday) and [email protected] (Wednesday).
Tabor (13-4-1) jumps up to #5 on the heels of a three-goal comeback to tie St. Paul’s (4-4) after a 2-1 OT win over Andover. The Seawolves have Exeter Wednesday and Brooks on Saturday.
#6 Loomis Chaffee (14-3-3) had an interesting week, edging Hotchkiss (2-1), grabbing a big win over Westminster (4-2) before falling to Choate (2-1). Another tough game looms with Pomfret Tuesday. Then, its Kingswood on Wednesday before the big one with Williston on Saturday.
#7 Pomfret (13-3-2) knocked off Berkshire (5-2) while Saturday’s game vs. Tabor was not played. This week, the Griffins have a huge makeup contest with Loomis Chaffee on Tuesday, then travel to Cushing Saturday.
Choate (11-6-2) moves up to #8 after the win over Loomis Chaffee and the tie with Williston. This week, it will be Kingswood (Tuesday), Berkshire (Wednesday) and Taft (Saturday) as the Wild Boars drive for a potential playoff bid.
Westminster (10-4-5) dropped a pair of games this weekend to Loomis Chaffee (4-2) and Nobles (2-0) and a result is now at #9. The Martlets look ahead to Taft (Wednesday) and Berkshire (Saturday).
New Hampton (12-7-3) stays put at #10, defeating Exeter (3-1) in its only action of this week. The Huskies host Southfield Wednesday before a big four-game slate in the final week of the season.
