Four of the top five school in the HNIB News Girls Prep Division II Poll suffered losses this past week, but all were to Division I opponents, so there is much movement in this latest installment of the poll.

#1 Rivers (9-3-1) fell 3-0 to Nobles, then posted back-to-back wins over St. George’s (a good 1-0 game) and Winchendon (4-0). The Red Wings certainly will be busy this week with four games: Kingswood (Monday), BB&N (Wednesday), Groton (Friday) and Brewster Academy (Saturday).

#2 Worcester Academy (9-3-2) lost to Exeter, and then played a hard-fought 2-2 tie with ranked Berwick on a pair of Maddie Evangelous goals, so the Hilltoppers can stay in the second slot. Pingree (Wednesday) and North Yarmouth Academy (Saturday) are this week’s opponents.

Southfield (7-2-2) hangs on to the #3 spot, as it lost to Tabor, and then settled for a 3-3 tie with Thayer. The team is off until Saturday when the opponent will be Holderness.

Canterbury (7-1-1) climbs a spot to #4. The Saints had wins over Millbrook and Kingswood, but then were tied up by Greenwich Academy, 2-2. Canterbury will be involved in the biggest game of the upcoming week with Wednesday’s clash with #5 Gunnery.

The Highlanders (4-4-1) followed a win over Vermont Academy with a 5-1 loss to D1 heavy Williston. After Canterbury, Gunnery will take on Kingswood.

#6 Berwick (12-0-1) continues to impress. This week, the Bobcats will see Dana Hall (Wednesday), North Yarmouth (Friday) and Kimball Union (Saturday).

#7 Proctor (6-4-0) fell big to Winchendon (6-1), but then rebounded in a big way with a 9-0 decision of Pingree. The Hornets will play Groton on Wednesday, then have a busy weekend with Hebron (Saturday) and Kents Hill (Sunday).

A 5-3 win over Kents Hill helped #8 Hebron (9-6-0) erase the sting of a 5-1 loss to Berwick. The Lumberjacks get North Yarmouth on Wednesday and Proctor (Saturday).
